Also if you trigger a hunt via a cursed object it won't count either. It MUST be the Demon's ability specifically that triggers the hunt that kills you.
it is 1 minute from opening the front door of the location.
you can use Custom Difficulty to your advantage for this. ideal setup would be:
- starting sanity 75
- pills 5
- sanity drain 0
- infinite sprinting
- player and ghost 150 speed
- high activity
- low roaming / events
- broken fusebox
- all cursed items
- all doors starting open
now go to Camp Woodwind (you want an open area for ghost to see you), take 1 pill to get 80 sanity (only Onryo with flames or Demon ability can trigger a hunt here), rush to Monkey Paw and wish for activity. wait till minute is up, leave and repeat
And that's probably why many people get confused after following these kind of guides. You loose 5 sanity in 42 seconds on small maps, so there's quite a high chance that a Demon just hunts naturally in that time, especially if you can't even switch on the lights due to a broken fuse.
i'm sorry, but you missed "0 sanity drain", there is nothing to get confused about with these settings. with these settings ONLY the demon ability can kill you because you don't trigger Onryo's fire-hunting and in singleplayer you CAN'T trigger the Yokai talking hunts because that's broken there
Yeah, my bad, sorry. I've seen it quite often without the sanity drain as well.
Now that I think about it, it did do a singing event while I was standing in the dark, so that explains it.
