You don't 'need' a 4 man group but people generally want to play with a 4 man group because it is more fun to do a group.
4 man group on small maps isnt fun i would say. after few minutes, you can clear the small maps veeeeerrryyyyy easy. Highschool with 2 or 3 people, asylum with 3 oder 4 people, that is fun.
Everyone else besides cheaters is fine.
Leave a game if some twerp keeps kicking people.
That means that if you wanna play with 3 friends + 1 stranger, you unfortunately have to kick people if the friends didnt have enough time to find the server in the long long long list of servers.....
Theres also the issue with Mics either not working, or the playing not having one, If a player without audio and mic enter, we tend to kick them. Not because we feel good about it, we actually feel guilty. But we wanna play with the mic, or at least some form of possible communication .. Again this is the fault of the game for not having a chat system.
So, the dev needs to make it easier for friends to find their friends sessions, even when they are public. And make it possible to turn private rooms into public rooms.
And they need to implement non-audio communication, and perhaps make some filters that lets people know which rooms require a working mic.
They usually kick people when they have slots reserved for their friends.
If you get kicked just join another lobby. I've been kicked more times than I can count but not even once did it bother me. Don't let it bother you either, I mean, why should it?
On that note, I see some comments about having a specific person join before letting others join. Cool and all but idk find more friends and do your private thing. Its not our fault if your lobby doesnt show up immediately to your friend. Don't kick us because you only have one friend.
And all the "jUsT mAkE PrIvAtE sErVer" folk need to get a clue. Someone who makes a room and wants to play with 1-2 friends with strangers filling in the empty spot(s) is perfectly fine. Not their fault the dev doesnt have a system to make private lobbies public. Do you need a full team? no. Is being able to play with fewer people relevant? no. There is nothing toxic about them kicking people, even more so when its to make room for a friend. The only "fix" the dev should even bother thinking about in regards to kicking, is adding a way to change a private lobby to public. Would solve pretty much 99% of the problems.
But until then...don't like getting kicked? make your own darn lobby. It's not rocket science.
