I think dead players should just remain dead until the mission is over.
The dead shouldn't be able to directly interact with the investigation and shouldn't give conflicting information regarding what kind of ghost it could be (being able to throw things around as a dead man when the ghost isn't a ghost that typically throws things around would be very confusing to the investigators left alive).
But giving the dead something to do would be a neat idea.
Ghost Players can troll easily with this as a feature. However, a GOOD teammate could also use this to guide their team towards an objective, or warn them of danger.
IE:
Evil Ghost is behind players. Ghost PLAYER can quickly throw an object behind them, and draw their attention towards the Evil Ghost, giving them time to react.
Now, that being said, I have a few ideas where they can take the Ghost Players' interactions a step further.
White Noise: Radios and Walkie Talkies can pick up dead players' voices, but it'd be heavily blocked by static. That, plus the dead player has to be VERY close to the radio that is affected.
EMF Readers: Their location can be spotted via EMF, but it can't reach Level 5 or 4, so as to avoid confusion with other ghost types.
Spirit Box: Every now and then, the Spirit Box can pick up some of what the player says.
Ouija Board: Ghost Players can use a Ouija Board, but ONLY if their name is called next to it. And they can only speak in letters, so they have to SAY the letter they want the planchette to go.
Writing on the Walls: Ghost Players can write a message on the walls that show up when a player uses a LED Light over it.
And a NEW Challenge can be brought up for Ghost Players: Damnation.
Damnation: The Ghost Player can be attacked AGAIN by the Evil Spirit, and banished to the "Other Realm", where they have to wait out the rest of the round, unable to assist their team any further. They get no insurance regardless of difficulty, and they start with lower sanity the next round. Plus they get a new death animation besides the "WoOoOoOo" hands... something more fitting to a spirit being banished into the "Other Realm". This could at least give them incentive to keep hiding, even if they met their demise.
Eternally Locked: Like the Evil Ghost, the Ghost Player can NOT leave the house. Their fate was sealed the moment they died within.
Spiritual Weaknesses: Ghost Players can't be near the Crucifix, can't walk past salt, and can't be around incense-related objects, or they will be banished to the "Other Realm". This can be incentive for the Ghost Player trying to AVOID interfering with the investigation, and act as a Counter-Troll measure if needed.
I have a few more ideas in mind, but I'll leave 'em out for the time-being. ^_^
so to like have ghost orbs or freezing temperatures when they are around
the those were examples but im just saying that there should be something form them to do because games can last a long time and dead players should have something to do to either pass time or help there team
I'd rather see the ghost attack drop the player sanity to zero (if not already) which will immobilize the player and requires his colleagues to come and fetch him and bring him back to the trailer. The player will then need to take sanity pills to rejoin the investigation or is stuck in trailer for the rest of the match but can still help and be useful in this way.
I just don't understand the dying mechanic, pretty sure no ghost hunter has ever died during an investigation, IRL.
