Modding the game

Does anyone know if you can get banned for using mods? I have 6 friends who wanna play the game but we can play without using a mod and I don't wanna take the risk of being banned and wasting money on the game just to get banned for trying to play with my friends.

look at gta 5 for as example if you mod in your own lobby i do not think you be banned but you could if you join people and mod but check the rules on steams terms and that and the games

You won't get banned, but there's a lot of bugs with players over 4. Ghosts don't know how to deal with 4+ players, the lobby doesn't really support it, etc.

there's no reason to be banned, the reason gta online lobby's band cheats is because there in game purchases of cash that can be cheated in (legally speaking that's stealing and piracy) however the general modding rule is that if its a local server, single player or modding is just allowed you can mod (TLDR yes there no reason to ban anybody)

Modding can get you in trouble since the mess that happened over Halloween. Not sure if it can result in a ban though. I do know it can royally muck up the game causing it to break.

Not really sure what "trouble" you're talking about. Nothing was done about modders then, and nothing is happening to them still. The only thing the dev done is that he moved the server-side code out of the client's domain, so modding is now less "effective".

I thought he started banning them back in October but I could have my games mixed up. Among Us was also having issues at the same time.

Modding is like cheating - it is totally okay, for as long as people you're playing with are consent to that. Otherwise, that is a sign of being a complete moron.

I never ended up modding it, I wouldn't recommend it either. The game is getting pretty decent updates and it's still fun.

Stay away from WEMOD and wait for the game to progress more before modding,
