Whooshing sound?
There's this sound in Phasmophobia the second when you enter a house it has sort of an ambience whooshing sound. It's really loud in my recordings is there a way to turn it down or completely off?

Edit: I fixed the sound issue. Messed stuff up in my recording software and it made it super loud. Got it turned down now so it's better. Thank you for your help and also for the load of rude comments. :) Yeah I see you.

no, it's meant to provide that scary heavy air atmosphere, why would you want to turn it off? that would ruin the vibe if you ask me.
My guess is that sound normalizer/compressor boosts it too much, making it loud.

Yeah every time you enter a house it sounds like you are underwater in a swimming pool it would be nice if you could turn it off it kinda kills the atmosphere for me. I think no ambiance just hearing ghost activity, your friends, and silence would be scarier.

i gotta disagree, the low bass adds to the scare factor

entering the house and hearing that sound immediately puts a huge pressure on you and you feel suffocated, tense and paranoid.
therefor, leaving the house is a relief, you would not get to feel those things if the house had completely no ambiant noise
but to each their own

Really? :O

For me its everything; crossing the threshold gives me chills because I can imagine the cold, heavy silence in the atmosphere. It's meant to make the ghost activity seem sharper, closer and shocking in comparison. It's an intentional vibe, don't take it out.

To me it feels kinda silly but I get that it's effective for most people so I'd like for there to be a way to turn it off for people like me. I'd like to be scared but every time I enter a house my brain goes to swimming pool.

Haha i love your description.

Well in another thread I was discussing with someone about having the Developer add more Sound Options in Game Settings. One of which was 'Ambience' - Rain/Thunder/Truck Radio etc

I suppose it would make sense to include the 'Atmosphere Dampener' to that list.

It's meant to add atmosphere but "Too loud in your recordings" what?

I've watched plenty of people stream the game and that has never been an issue among any of them, it doesn't mess with the stream in any way, it's atmospheric noise.

You don't even really hear it anymore after a short while unless you intentionally try and listen for it.

All that being said, I don't think it would harm anything to have a ways to turn it down some or something either as I don't think it has any real gameplay influence other than letting you know when you are inside.

The sound you hear is the pressure of feeling the dread. Its perfect. Specially in vr

It's extremely loud in my recordings for some reason. It's also annoying for me because I cant hear a single thing xD

Personally I think it could be toned down a little.

It's...somewhat of a cheap trick...but there's always a place for cheap tricks. So it's more a matter of that volume, it just gives me a headache over time. I want to be scared by the gameplay, drawn tight by the ghost's manipulations, I want to doubt what I'm seeing...not just worn down by a loud droning noise and jump scares.

The very fact it bothers you and you want to turn it off is why it’s there to begin with. You are supposed to feel uncomfortable inside the house and relieved to leave it.

This.

Extra effect in VR, like a breath of fresh air when you leave the house.

How many more kids want safe space stuff?
First someone complained about the hands over the face because it triggered their autism.
Now someone complains about the heavy tense air sound making them deaf.
