PC restarted
checked the integrity of the files

Why should they have to do anything instead of waiting for a fix to be pushed? This is complete garbage that "updates" break the game and seems nobody tests anything for this game anymore. Surely miss the old days when this game was worth it.

The issue is being caused by people force quitting the game or having crashed prior to the update today. They can wait around and hope that a fix comes quickly, or they can send a message to the phas discord and we can clear the error in about 30 seconds. It's entirely up to them really.

Press Windows key+R and type regedit and hit okay and open the registry editor.

Go to this location Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Kinetic Games\Phasmophobia

After navigating to that location, make sure the game is closed, then delete the phas folder from the registry and then launch the game and confirm that the error is cleared.

Please note this will NOT work with all client timeout errors. Only one very specific client timeout. Thanks.

Try clearing Steam download cache and switching host

you still haven't fixed it. the error appears despite subsequent updates. connecting to vpn is not a solution, do something about it
