Camera jumpscares
Imagine having jumpscares while watching cameras from the truck. That would be epic imo. Like a face or something

no

No. It would be cheap and lazy.

No. Cheap and lazy.. Jumpscares, despite the term used, are not Scary, They are Startling.

And to be clear, I'm down with creepy things happening on the camera... Just not in the form of jumpscares.

jumpscares are lame

That would only work, if there's a real threat attached to the ghost showing itself. Within the house you would need to verify it being a hunt or an event, but in the truck it would be instantly clear, that it's just an annoyance.

On the other side, having stuff like the camera being knocked over is definitely fine, since it serves the purpose of making you go back in again. If a camera event would cause the camera to switch off or get tampered with in any form, then that would be better than just jumping you for no reason.

Only thing i've ever thought would be creepy is any ghost that can leave UV evidence being able to leave hand prints on the players although that only really works in MP.

If the ghost touches you, you dead. Why would its touch sometimes leave UV and sometimes leave a body?

For any added feature in the game, there are two considerations: What does the feature add to the game mechanics? And how can the feature be explained in lore?
Truck screen jump scares are easily explained in lore, but what purpose is served by them? In contrast to the ghost knocking over the camera directly, which serves to bring the player back into the house. Yes, you will scare presumably the most fearful demographic of the game (and possibly make them quit) and perhaps you want a scarier game so that's worth it to you, but mechanically why purpose does this serve? How is the gameplay improved with this?

I'm all for being able to witness scary things on the monitors, but the game is actually less scary if you don't have the respite of the truck. If you can get jumpscared in the truck, being inside is actually less scary and uh oh our horror game is now broken.

I've stood inside a ghost so saying it touches you and you're dead is wrong.

My idea was simply an extra evidence interaction and not a cheesy jumps are that are in all the awful phas clones.

Only if it was a banshee that was targeting someone else. Or a ghost event and not a hunt.

It could leave the handprint on the body itself, not on living players.

I think that's a great idea. I play mostly multiplayer and it would be funny to see a ghost print suddenly pop up on someone. Also, I don't know what game these arguing trolls are playing but the ghost can and does touch players without killing them all the time. It happens nearly every investigation and is part of the code that decreases a players sanity FCOL.

Yuuup. I only play the game with my misses and if she's not getting a ghost photo i'll run into the manifestation just for the fun of it. If it spawned for me it'll vanish as get to it and if it's there for her, i can sit inside it until it naturally F's off.

I touch ghost ass daily without dying.

Put the jump scares into the camera for all those truck princesses to afraid to walk inside. Then go one step above and let ghosts scare people outside of the house.
