Are random people rude to randos?
Hi, I know this is a dumb ass question but I'm someone with really bad social anxiety and feel I make a lot of lobbies worse because I'm a newer player and don't know what the hell I'm doing half the time. So I don't have many friends to play with and stuff so I'm considering joining random lobbies, but the issue is, I'm nervous random people'll get mad at me and just boot me out for not knowing what I'm doing so how are random lobbies in terms of toxicity and stuff?

Most people are chill, but you will meet some bad eggs, and some people will try to push you to do everything because your new, try to find a good group to play with though.

I have weird hours compared to my friends so I end up playing public lobbies a lot. It is open to everyone, so you will get all sorts of different people and experiences but generally the majority of the groups I have played with have been quite nice. It was randoms that first taught me how to play honestly since the tutorial wasn't actually that helpful. I was honest from the start when I joined and told them I was new and a coward but I'd do my best, and most were perfectly fine with it and made a point of explaining stuff, answering questions, and giving advice.

The one thing that was a bit unfortunate was mentioned by Ryd above, the new player can often get voluntold to take the bigger risks. Partly because those who die lose the gear contributed, and the new player doesn't likely have much to lose. Still, it can end up a negative experience, but if you play with a good group that's far less likely and they usually do their best to help you when it is necessary to take those risks.

@Twist - It's like any other online muti-player game... You will get a mix of good and bad individuals. I will say that I have encountered very few toxic people.

In any case, hit me up on Steam if you play any time after 10pm CST. My gaming friends and I will be happy to run you through some missions. This game has a bit of a learning curve to it. You will definitely have a better time with some people who can show you the ropes.

I'll play with you. I'm new too and dying to play but too anxious to join randoms.

Hi.

So I joined some random lobbies and so far my experience has been pretty good, I've found both serious and lighthearted groups and they've all been welcoming to me. If any of you are new and scared to join random lobbies just shoot me a message over Steam and we can play! That is if I can get back to you ^^

Depends on who you get. You have good apples and bad apples. If your that worried just host your own Public Matches. You won't get booted. Most people sadly to say who are higher levels don't want to play with lower level people. Just explain to them in voice chat that you are new and who knows you may find some cool people who are ok with it. Its the luck of the draw. I started off hosting my own games since day 1 and don't have any problems. I don't mind low levels as long as they have a working mic and are willing to listen and follow instructions. I don't mind giving out tips to help out newer players. I guess its my personality. The ones I do have issues with are the ones who want to grief the games or who want to argue with you thinking their right but they are in fact wrong.

Most of the people I’ve played with didn’t even bat an eye that I was low level, they all showed me some mechanics and stuff. I did feel bad when I was a host and could only do amateur jobs for them and felt I was wasting their time because they’d get barely any money out of it

Don't worry about that man. Just host your own amateur games. You will eventually get up there to unlock higher level difficulties. That is all I play now are Professional levels. Better xp and the ghost is a little more aggressive. The ones who want to stick it out with you on amateur will stay with you and then you can just keep queing until you get higher level. Or find you a good group of players who want to play Professional and then you can level up faster. If you see my games you are more then welcome to join.

Anyone who is new and is afraid they'll mess something up; you can always take the backseat and watch your teammates do things or ask them what you should be picking up and bringing into the building.

If you run into braver and/or more experienced people, they can also do most of the field work while you check things in the van or possibly even bring stuff to the building entrance to save them some travel time - for instance on the prison map.

Outside of the obvious, there's not THAT much you can mess up. You could waste salt, photo camera memory, pills and things. But if you don't lead the ghost to others during a hunt, misinform your teammates or do aforementioned wasting, you're fine.

back in fall they had a bunch of good people but they moved on. The majority of players still here are mostly annoying trolls or dumb teens thinking making fun of people is "Fun"

I bought this game recently. 90% of people I met were helpful and explained everything to me, making it an enjoyable expierience

Public lobbies are either alright or a waste of time. A lot of the chill people moved on.
