Yup, your mileage may vary though, and its recommended you grind up to lv 15-20 solo to avoid being kicked (people just tend to not wanna play babysitter depending on what they're looking for in a group). You can also try the discord or looking for players section to try and find a good group. A lot of people are open to playing with newbies and would be glad to help you out.

sometimes i wish i was when thinking back, but seeing how kids have it or behaves today, not a chance.

yes, also if u want to play with a friend and randoms at the same time, have ur friend start a public lobby and refresh until their steam name shows up in the search

I just came from a lobby full of them, Full blown dumb, not older than 10 years old. Using cuss words, literally talking like they know the game but are off by miles and wont listen to anyone else. They try to boss you around, then they get angry and turn on their Trainers and start cheating to troll.
They're exactly as bad as it is. There's a minority*(pun intended) who are decent and not cancer. But I prefer 18+, not the 7 year old streamer followers who the vast majority of these kids are.

Had a child who got angry and scared of the ghost room so they put down infinite salt piles and created barriers that would Teleport everyone back to the van.

Yes, but some higher levels will kick you from the lobby due to the fact that you're new. What you could do, however, is play solo, or join the Phasmophobia Discord to perhaps get relatively nicer people.
