Recording OBS lagging the game?
Hi! This is my first time doing a post and I'm sorry if it may seem a bit complex but I am dying to figure out this issue. The game lagged with me a lot and I figured out to run it better with task manager settings priority to high/above normal. Now I play this game pretty frequent now and I decided to want to record the game play but when I run OBS it lags the game and if it doesn't lag the game it renders and the video comes out laggy.

Does this happen to anyone else? Or maybe a settings suggestion I am willing to try out or different recording system to adjust to the game. Also I tried it on 3 different laptops from oldest to newest all windows (I IDK if thats useful or not). Thank you for the help ahead of time but it is a great game aside form my own lil struggles here!

Recording video puts even more demand on yout system while playing and if you don't have a good enough pc it can be a normal issue. Try lower the settings in game.

What are your specs, is it even a gaming laptop?

Okay! I thought I lowered it enough but I'll look more in addition to the settings, thank you so much! I shall update you if it works out!

These days I was doing a GTA V Live and I realized that OBS is demanding a lot more from the processor than before. I realized that in some updates ago I was not so demanding. In short, it is not just Phasmophobia, OBS causes lag in any game.

If you have a Nvidia GPU make sure it's using NVENC Encoder.. also the view port of OBS can cause some games to lag. So disable that if you can.
