10% off sale instead of 20%
Do the developers not understand that when you do a sale on Steam discounting the price by 20% or more, Steam emails EVERYONE who has that game on their Steam wishlist?

Not 15%, not 10%, 20% or more.

You will definitively get MORE sales and preorders, by discounting the game an additional 10%.

The game is a viral success, and it's only $13. I'm sure the devs know what they're doing.

Hard to say, if they know it or not, but you for sure sound like you expected a 20 % deal and got mad about it not happening.

"This game isn't discounted enough. Discount this game more".

My guy, be glad Phasmo is on sale at all.

This post isn't about the price. It's about the devs/publisher being ignorant on how Steam works, and knee-capping their sales/preorders.

Steam automatically emails and push notify's users of the Steam app of discounted items on their wishlist ONLY when it's a 20% off (or a higher percentage) sale.

If you don't know to say anything except "it's cheap enough already" or some stupid variance, don't bother. You're just looking ignorant yourself.

While I get what you mean, I don't think this is a problem right now since it's currently a down period in-between Steam sales. If they don't bump it up during the next big sale then yes, I would suggest they do so.

Okay, I can agree with you there.

I just thought it was worth making the developers aware for the future, or for them to rectify this soon if they're not aware. The increased sales from having a 20% off sale and notifying ACTUAL interested individuals would vastly offset the profit margin being lower, if not make it completely void.

To put it more simply; Cheaper copies & potentially free advertising to actual interested people > higher profit margin per copy in terms of overall net profit. They'll sell more copies and by proxy, make more profit.

Thanks for your comment/reply!

What they should do actually, is set it to 25%.. that pushes it under the threshold for one of the search options for price (in my case Canadian, under 12$).
It shows up more on searches that way as well as hits the notification.

However, I think they are still trying to fix some glaring issues that might put off new players (the equipment interface for one).
The time to push awareness of the game will be when some of those things are in a better state, or especially when another feature is released (like new models, or horror 2.0 stuff, etc).

This isn't a game I'm interested in, in the slightest. Believe me...do you see a lot of horror games in my game library? The very few I *do* have are very borderline. Leave it to someone with anime profile picture to make assumptions about someone being angry. "lolumadbro"

I don't agree, at least not with your reasoning. Almost 4 years in Early Access is absolutely ridiculous. So because of that, if they were to discount it at all...considering it's been in early access for 4 years, I'd prefer to see the game be $9.99USD or even less.

Adding the 4 years of early access to the fact that the developers are bothering to put the game on sale at a discount of less than 20% DEFINITELY says that they have no idea what they're doing. Which despite me having no interest in the game whatsoever, is really disappointing.
