Play with friends or kick griefers, issue solved. There are already a ton of ways to grief in the game already, do you want to remove cursed objects because they can be used by griefers too?
There's a reason people wanted "effectively unlimited" photo shooting from the equipment itself.
Honestly, the whole idea of "wait, wait, wait... don't take that picture of the ghost doing crazy stuff... we already have one, any more and they won't count..." Like you wouldn't be spamming the burst shots when you saw a ghost, lol.
It really feels like the concept of evidence collection needs a total overhaul, one where it promotes trying to gather as much as possible, and maybe go in conjunction with objectives to get those riskier ones to sell to a specific client, etc.
It would be neat if we had to collect lots of evidence, where higher quality counts for more (making skill in taking shots matter).
If we added things like video recordings, audio recordings, even sample collection, then it would feel like you had an entire secondary aspect to the investigation beyond just guessing the ghost,
Maybe the follow up team that performs the ritual needs a certain amount of evidence to know what to do. Higher difficulties requires higher amounts of evidence collection as part of completing it.. it wasn't enough to just say "yeah, it was a Phantom", but you also gathered some photos, a recording of it shutting doors and throwing things, and some audio recordings from the spirit box responses and hunts.
I want to walk out of the mission going "Alright, we are pretty sure it's an Oni, and we have enough evidence collected for the banishment team, let's go."
Edit:
Uh.. but yeah. For now, a simple "delete a couple photos" at least would help a lot as a quick fix.
At this point it's probably best to just play alone, if you even complain about your friends griefing. Did you ever try to talk to them about what you expect from the game?
And btw, the only way to really prevent that from happening is to detach the photo-system from the MP-part and make it so, that everybody needs to take their own photos, but that seems very counterintuitive for a coop game.
