Does this game have full controller support- Or Not?!
So I use to play this game way back when it first came out (on my first computer) and never had to use a controller at that time. But in the few years since the game has come out I had two strokes that greatly effected my ability to use my left arm for anything really let alone using the wasd keys for moving. I can't have my arm up to the keyboard for more than like a minute. Anyway it too hard for me to play games now that are keyboard and mouse controlled (most games)(lol) It really sucks because while some games are finally adding working controller support, so many more are not. I just hate it because thought gaming was something I'd always be able to do to relax and have fun- but it just seems i'm having more and more issues just finding games I can actually play anymore. Or if I do find one its always something boring and not of any interest to me.
This is the second time now ive seen that it says Phasmophobia has full controller support- but then I always have to go in and ask- But does it really? so many games say they have full controller support, so I buy them, just to find out NOPE they don't, or its completely janky and never worked in the first place. So I'm just here to ask if it truly does have FULL CONTROLLER SUPPORT or not. I've been missing this game alot lately and stuff and wanted to get it again, but honestly I can't waste money on another game I can't physically play. Thanks.

I've played with a controller a few times via Steam Deck, so there is controller support. The controls are...interesting, but they do work. With the game also coming out on consoles later this month, hopefully they will be refining the button setup to be a little less counter-intuitive...I struggled with the controls on the deck, but maybe that's just a me problem, rather than a we problem.

I played a small number of times with an Xbox controller on PC (my mouse was causing issues with the computer itself). It doesn’t work all that great in the lobby (the “use” buttons triggers two actions at once and closing the menu will cause you to drop whatever you’re holding). Inside an actual contract, the controller works great. I would recommend switching between mouse and controller as you play, the mouse being to navigate menus.

My friend plays on controller as they have similar issues with hands works great for her

I play with controller and it works, but it definitely can be improved, specially the UI.
Menu navigation is not so intuitive.

It's hard to pick up items because you need to be ultraprecise, aiming with the thumbsticks is very twitchy.

Also there's a bug with the menu cursor, it's too slow.

So currently the game was designed for keyboard/mouse, controller was a second thought. Unsure if it will be improved once the console version is released.

To add onto what everyone else has said, controller can for sure feel kinda slow and clunky, but definitely does work.

Even if it didn't have controller support. Steam Controller Configuration lets you use a controller on any game. Majority of games already have community controller profiles you can get that improve or add controller support.

in some ways it's better than native support. Like being able to use a controller that has Gyro. Can use it for better aiming.

Thanks to everyone that answered my question. Basically I just wanted to find out if I'd be able to play lol. Alot of PARTIAL CONTROLLER SUPPORt games on here let you use the controller in the menu, and then not actually in the game, or vice versa lol THANKS ALLLL

with console versions coming soon I'm positive they will fix it soon.
