you broke the jinn takes sanity from you by doing anything 0 ghost event 13 interactions only 3 near me
9:45 min match 8:41 spent in light. found ghost after 1 min on tangle wood was in basement put my gear down stairs camera glow book 2 crucifix photo camera spirit box and salt. it moved a manikin to outside the back window i though was funny as i was moving my gear in.
then i place salt tier 2 it moved the rocking chair then stepped into 2 of my salt and i got uv evidence then my crucifix burned up and i ran out as that is 100% a demon my sanity will be at 95%. o wait why is my sanity 19-24% it on normal drain. so i looked up Jin as i know it drains sanity with events but i had 0 ghost events but no you made it drain sanity from walking on my salt.
please fix as that's just not right is it?

From the wiki on Jinns:

When the Jinn uses its ability and the fuse box is on, it will lower the sanity of all players in the same room or otherwise within 3 meters of it by 25%. An EMF 2/5 reading will be generated at the fuse box.

Note that it specifies "ability" and not "event" - if you look in the end-of-game stats, you can see how many times the ghost's special ability was used. It does not necessarily have any corresponding visual evidence other than your sanity suddenly dropping when watched in the van.

its rather broken if it can just move something near you and 4 times and you are 0 sanity.
i feel very sorry for any poor new players not only have a demon who can just hunt right from the start 98% sanity but the sanity killer jinn

Again, it's not moving something near you (interactions, et al) that causes the sanity drain. The ghost ability is an often-unseen thing that can happen at any time, similar to the Demon hunting at any sanity, or the Thaye aging. It's all RNG...a Jinn can rapid fire its ability, or never use it once...or it can use it repeatedly with the fuse box off, and thus do absolutely nothing to you. Jinn has an inherent danger with the generator on because of its ability, but it's far from impossible to survive.

The important thing to remember, however, is that ghost abilities are independent of interactions and events, even if some abilities can cause certain interactions (Poltergeist throwing a polty pile, or Yurei closing a door, etc)

It's a pretty good ability as few ghosts can drop your sanity that fast.

Did you hear it on spirit box or parabolic? Could be Moroi, but no spirit box or parabolic used?

Was it closing a ton of doors or you're sure it slammed one? Ah Yurei, but wait you were in the basement and it wasn't closing any doors, so not that.

Sanity suddenly plummeted and fuse box was on? Sounds like a Jinn to me, let's vote and leave.

it was moving doors i thing at the basement door and moving stuff far away from me as i was starting to look from first room at the start looking for bone. only thing near me it move was the rocking chair and 2 salt piles

Yeh, but to immediately plummet your sanity, there's few things that can explain that so it narrows your scope significantly. Jinn is a blessing and a curse that way, cuz hurray you got massive sanity drain to narrow down your ghost with only a few conditions! Hurray you're getting early hunts now!

It's not broken this is just how the ghost works lol. It can silently zap you, and the only indicator this happens is an EMF 2 at the fuse box. Hasn't been any different for the past year.

You got very unlucky. Jinn's ability is super unexpected.
Had a Jinn on willow street 2 evidence run. In 30 minutes it didn't use its ability even once, only found out it was a Jinn because of the acceleration when far away during hunts.

The ability is completely separate from interactions and events, it's its own thing, like the Yurei door slam or Poltergheist explosion, kinda rare, but can sometimes happen back to back.

Yeah, ghost abilities in general are very spotty...while touching this thread this morning, I had a Thaye that used its ability 10 times and slowed down to where I was faster than it at a walk. First Thaye I've had in probably three dozen encounters that used its ability to any noticeable degree, so I was actually shocked that it never even got a hunt off before it aged itself to oblivion. It's just an RNG part of the game, but it is an intended mechanic. You learn to work around it to survive eventually though XD

if a jin tries to touch the breaker , instead of turning it off it will leave emf there and drain a players sanity by 25 percent
