The weaker light is enough to see pretty clearly, but lacks a lot of distance - meanwhile you sacrifice that clarity for full depth vision with the night vision goggles. It's ultimately a trade-off, and in my book I can honestly work with both.
My opener in solo tends to now be T3 EMF, T3 UV flashlight, and whatever the best tier of Photo Camera and head mount I've got. Initial dive for possession/bone photo... and if I can't find the ghost in the process then I switch out everything and instead cover the location with T2/3 sound sensors so that I can at least isolate the floor it's on.
Now to actually unlock it outside of weekly challenge freebies :v
Not a bad idea. I've unlocked T3 headset only recently, and I just can't bring myself to upgrade to it. It's slow to activate and deactivate; it doesn't provide much better vision than the T2; it's a weird bright green that, as you've stated, can be headache inducing; and the green screen kind of removes the dark atmosphere of the game that exists without it.
I get the feeling that some people really do like it better, and I'm not judging. But I don't really understand. To me, it seems like it needs fixing.
