Roaming ghosts always start hunt in their room?
Im a little confused to if a ghost ALWAYS starts hunting from it's room, or if it sometimes will start it from where it is roaming.

The ghost roams the location as a real but invisible entity; When it initiates a hunt, it begins the hunt from wherever that entity currently is.
it can roam twice a row i saw it in cams there was that moment we saw orb's coming from the childs room and then we found them in the Teen room after few minutes he roams back to childs room.

so it is able that the ghost can roam more then one time and yes it can start the hunt from where he is !

Specifically, the ghost has several different movement decisions that it can make - it can select a location nearby and attempt to move toward it, stay still, any special movement (teleports), attempt to move back to its favorite room, or select a location far away and attempt to move toward it. This last is called a "long roam." In between each movement, it will always return to its favorite room.

After a long roam, if changing ghost rooms is enabled, the ghost can decide to change its favorite room to its current location, if applicable. This has a base chance that can be set (high, medium, low) and is also affected by player sanity - higher average sanity means lower chance for a room change.

There is no effective cool down on how often it can change its favorite room, just the combination of circumstances and chance.

At any point during these movements, the ghost can initiate a hunt, and will generally start hunting from where it currently is. There's a few fringe cases that can impact this behavior: Some ghosts have abilities that allow them to teleport to you (banshee, wraith, phantom, I believe) regardless of where you are on the map, and then they can randomly start a hunt from that position. The Twins also has a unique function where they can start a hunt from their current location or from their last long-distance interaction location (a special twins mechanic that makes 2 interactions happen together in different places)

So hunts can come from anywhere, technically, but practically, ghosts like to stay in their favorite room most of the time (you can see that on the end of game screen if you click on details tab at the top) so most hunts will come from there.

I once heard that the first hunt always starts in the ghost room if it wasn't forcibly moved elsewhere, but I've never seen evidence of it.

It would be safer to assume that the ghost will always hunt from its current position, which isn't always the ghost room.

no if it walks out if there is a crucfix it will hunt from outside the room. also if the ghost gives you a ghost event it can start a hunt from there. this can be bad cuzz if you are in a hidding spot it can start there and kill you right there on the spot.

Incidentally, this behavior is a good reason not to huddle in hiding spots when the ghost is not hunting. If a ghost makes an event happen and that event paths to you, then it hunts, it will often be in direct view of your hiding place and you (I've seen SO MANY players get killed by that combination). Generally speaking, expect hunts to be primarily based from the ghost room, but any time an event occurs, be prepared for the ghost to come from a different direction. Having smudge sticks ready for these moments is a huge survival booster, naturally.

Sounds like a good reason not to hide in the same spot as others. Then again I've also run into the people who will keep talking to themselves while "Hiding" in a locker and then get mad when the ghost finds them immediately.

That sounds like self correcting problems, but this could just be me. :)
