You all came back after months of not playing? Because yes, that's exactly what the last update was about, resetting everything to implement the new progression system.
Oh well then I guess that's it for me and this game... I am not going back to playing begginer level missions and whatever to gain money after I already did that...
I didn't play it every day but was fun to play once in a while with friends, but I guess that's it.
Thank you for the answer we weren't sure.
They changed the game to have a "Prestige" process where you will be leveling up, prestige to get an overall "badge" increase (with some perks), and start over again.
You don't have to re-unlock the missions and ghosts again, but you do have to select your equipment upgrades and save up cash.
Technically, what's happened is you are auto-Prestiged into Prestige 1. If you level up to 100 and upgrade your stuff and collect your monies again.. when you prestige to 2, it will be just like you are now (though with a new badge and I think some extra loadout slot and such?).
OOORRR you can just stay at Prestige 1 and play the game with fully upgraded equipment. I think you can level to 999 before you cap out and just sit there until you actively prestige.
To put it simply though... your levels and money were doing nothing but sit there as big numbers on a screen before. The loss isn't "functional", so to speak. The special armband that you can make with your pre-patch levels captures all that work you did into "a big number on your plaque/shoulder".
It'll take maybe a couple days to level back up to a point where you have mostly Tier 2 equipment and are back to what you were before the reset. At that point, the difference from one game to the next will be just like before.. maybe a few new things along the way if you decide to upgrade stuff.
However, Some people experienced the level reset bug between the last time they logged in and logging in post update- So they didnt have a save to be auto-prestiged and get to pick their level badge from; So they start level 1 prestige 0 with difficulties and maps locked.
To have this remedied you need to go to the Phasmophobia discord for support and contact mod mail.
And actually the way the leveling system works is that you can prestige at lvl 100, anyone that played before has prestiged to lvl 1.
Still a good game to play, even you have start from scratch
