Free Prestige?

So both of my friends got a free level 1 prestige and i got ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, one of my friends has 1 hour more play time than me so i don't understand why they get a free prestige and i don't? can someone explain this?

If you owned the game before the progress wipe you were automatically granted Prestige 1 so you at least had access to all maps and difficulties.

OP did own the game. Sounds like they got hit with the level reset bug prior to the update without knowing it, and so didn't get the prestige properly.

Join the official phasmophobia discord and contact mod mail, if they aren't still buried in reports they should be able to help you.
