More player mod?
playing as 4 is really fun, but it would be more chaotic and fun if we were 6 or 8, is there a mod that can fulfill my dreams?

Thankfully no, and likely won't officially happen. If you spared 3 minutes of your life, you could find the many posts discussing thing and why it's not a good idea at the moment, if ever.

To put it simply - people tried a five player mod in the past, but it caused several stability issues, such as disconnects and even save data corruption. (EDIT: this is even well documented as part of the FAQ Pinned Thread)

There's also the matter that the small houses would be horribly imbalanced for more players... not to mention the cacophony of voices trying to share information.

All in all, it's pretty much a terrible idea on multiple, if not all possible, fronts.

There was no five player mod.

It was just an ini edit that bypassed server security.

ive done it. still do it

stop spreading misinformation

Well my information was from this right here... in the pinned thread "Rules and FAQ: Read before Posting":
I see lobbies with more than 4 players, is this intended?
Lobbies with more than four players are not intended by the developer. These lobbies are modded, and can cause multiple issues with the game including corruption of save data and the loss of all progress. Please avoid joining any of these games.

So, I'm willing to believe this over getting more players in. As for the remarks to map imbalance and too many voices in ones head in a game... these are other opinions/concerns from people in similar threads, to which I am in agreement with.

I wasn't fully aware of the details around it's conception - I don't usually use mods unless they are officially supported in some way, like via workshop. Still, the issues it caused are well documented, so I don't think it's a good idea unless the game gets re-coded to support it (which is highly unlikely)

Used the mod back in the days, and we had a lot of fun.
It has been sorely missed

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
