So yea, I do think the devs have a pretty good idea of who is playing the game and what they want. Some things are much easier to add in than others, and that plays a factor in development as well. Harder game mode is pretty easy to do, especially when all the settings can be customized already. Sounds like they're working hard on a major update that will probably include a shop update to incorporate the new items, so that should help with a major pain point as well. A better tutorial would also help new players get into the game, and I'm willing to bet that will be coming with the updated items (when better to redo the tutorial than when all the "new player" items will be new to everyone?)
Honestly, including a badge for the top 1% of the playerbase isn't something that I have an issue with. That sort of cosmetic "pat on the back" is exactly what keeps people happy, costs basically nothing in terms of development time, and shows just how much the devs appreciate the players who do play the most. Making multiple threads about how insane it is just makes you look salty.
Baffling a trophy is this big of a deal to someone.
15k badge sounds more like it's for active players since the very beginning, not something for new or casual players to stress over. I do like the Holiday Challenges though! Finding those super large Easter eggs was a comical surprise on its own, and the cookies for the '22 holiday event was silly entertainment.
The current weekly challenges are good to do, and so are most dailies and regular weekly goals. It does have that nice little competitive kick. Even the one at the asylum is only one I try for just for skill testing and some luck reasons. Audience gets to see me die and I get reminded I am not ready yet. (✿◕ 𐤿◕)
For those who hit 15k and up legit, I support them getting something for it, because dayum, they are dedicated. For players like me, I'm fine with current stuff.
For changes, maybe making a better tutorial for the item shop and getting new players going on their hunts. It's hard to say more until the big update comes out.
Cheers to future hunts and scares!
The only time I'm ever serious is with new players, or when people spread misinformation on how ghosts work.
But dev, tune it down for the boys with 500 hours. I even got a job from a friend i met in phasmo. game is pretty good and i see no problem with everyone having the old level badges to customize our profile. let the "exclusive" customization stuff be in the new progression 2.0
not the old one, since most of the high level people cheated levels before the anti-cheat thing
Not even the best RPG is worth 500 hours of my time like i did in phasmo.
did the math here
1800 levels x 20 minutes per match at 15x XP multiplier (the highest one)
I have to play 54 hours and get 100% of the ghosts right in a month to be able to get what i want. thats 2 hours a day of getting the ghost right at the highest (impossible) difficulty.
Too bad. I don't play for the grind. Rather let the game go for a while.
The game is hitting it's all time low.
12k consecutive players since the launch by looking at steam charts.
I dont think adding ULTRA competitive challenges is the way to go and retain players.
The slow updates and the super hard to get content will not hold the game.
The social aspect and the extra things to do is the biggest thing but i think the updates are so slow now.
