VR Performance?
When the game updated, it was a bit choppy, sometimes it froze during a ghost event or interaction which was pretty helpful but after a patch or two, it got better. Now the game is extremely choppy, some maps are unplayable, I used to play this a lot with zero choppy but now its very bad.

Also Spirit box is broken in VR, it can only be picked up if your hand is far behind it. Left hand Tier 2 EMF reader is also upside down. :eagletear:

VR plays a lot worse. Audio is all over the place. I sometimes load in and can't hear anyone. I can't hear the front door slam. Flashlights are glitchy

It seems like since the game blew up in popularity, they've pretty much left VR support on the backburner. There's so many bugs it really detracts from the experience. Here's a few I've had since the update:
-dynamic lights have pixelated edges
-can't interact with tent flaps on maple lodge or woodwind
-can't pick up tier 1 spirit box
-tier 3 spirit box doesn't recognise voices, or has a text input menu
-can't toggle tier 2 motion sensor modes
-broken weather lighting, fog/moonlight lighting up the bottom edges of rooms
-items falling through the map or getting stuck in level geometry permanently
-not recognising microphone input device through multiple restarts
-not being able to switch camera feeds in the van
and on top of everything, performance is terrible. It's a shame because there's no other game like it in VR.

If you go through their patches you will see one or 2 patches back was almost a full VR patch. Its not perfect but it wont just get fixed overnight. Things take time... And the Devs also dont work 24/7 for your convenience. They have lives too.

These Devs dont deserve all the hatred you all are giving them because you cant play a game that isnt perfect. They work hard to keep the game running. Be glad or grateful you have a good ghost investigation game to play instead of just another game like every other game on the market.

For the spirit box, put your hand model all the way through it so the underside of the wrist area is behind the device, then grab. the grab point is just a little askew.

I'm pretty sure that the reason for putting VR back might have to do with the upcoming character models. In order to fix some of these issues, they would have to tweak how the player model acts but since it already has lots of other issues, they are just ignoring them in the meantime. At least its paarrttiaalllyyy playable, when i came back to the game after a year, they just updated and broke the dots projector in VR, couldnt place it at all thus making the game somewhat impossible. That took like a week + to fix. :eagletear:

Right now after all the hotfixes VR performance is MUCH better than when the patch where they added fog (which was pre-Ascension), and they fixed the gamebreaking bug where VR players would teleport items back to the truck. Still not perfect (can't hide in tents, that's a huge issue) but it's getting better.

for me the only issue is that the journal is a bit annoying, where it closes for everyone if more than one person grabs it at once. performacne could be beter, but it's playable for me personally with reduced settings... then again, i only really play on the smaller maps.
