Objetive: Escape the ghost...
When you escape from the ghost and survive, it should count as you have completed the ghost and not the completed mark, this has been happening since before the update and now too, could it be fixed?

Can't fully parse that but an easy way to make sure you get the Escape objective is: have your smoke cleanse handy, identify a hiding spot, and pick a safe place to wait where the ghost can see you. You want to make sure the ghost is actually chasing you for the objective to count, so wait for the ghost to start approaching you and when it starts getting close, pop smoke and hide.

Or run circles if deogen.

If you 1) successfully lured the ghost into chasing you and 2) survived, you will get it.

The ghost type objective (i guess you're refering to that?) depends on if you've marked the right ghost when leaving. The Escape the ghost-objective needs you to be seen in a hunt and then nobody in your team die. Both work as intended, so there's nothing that needs to be fixed.

"Escape the hunt" means that someone should actually be chased during a hunt and not die, so you can't just hide and wait it out.

to escape the ghost you need to have the heartbeat thumping due to the proximity of the ghost first then get away and hide/cycle the ghost till the hunt ends.

I also agree with you, the objective should count as completed even if the ghost wasn't targeting you. It doesn't make sense that it doesn't count, you're literally saving yourself from a ghost hunt, whether the ghost sees your or not :S it's dumb that it has to be so specific, and it doesn't help that the objective doesn't explain itself 100%

That is not correct.

The heartbeat just indicates how close a ghost is - not if it is actually chasing you.
It MUST be chasing you, otherwise it will not count as "escaped".
For example, you can sit in a closet at all times and a ghost walking past you will also give you the heartbeat - but it would never count as escaped because the ghost never chased you.

So, establish LOS, yell at the dude and be sure it's coming for you - then smudge and escape. to complete that task.

It's not that strange of the game to expect you to do something for your rewards. If you wouldn't need to do anything for it, then they could also just get rid of it completely.

Also the word "escape" already implies, that you're getting chased, otherwise they would just write "hide".

Yeah; The objective is to 'Escape' the ghost, not to 'Survive' a hunt. If the ghost never sees you, you haven't 'Escaped'; You've 'hidden'.

You *can* in fact hide and wait it out... after getting the ghost to chase you first. Assuming it's not a deogen, all you have to do is get it to chase after you once, then you can pop smoke and hide the whole rest of the hunt.

The ghost has to actually "see" someone for the "escape" objective to complete. If its in hunt mode and only wandering, that is not escaping the ghost.

When we first started playing, it was easy for us to misread the objective to mean "if there is a hunt going on, and you have survived, you escaped the ghost during a hunt". Maybe the wording of the objective could be clarified to something like "Escape being chased by the ghost during a hunt" since it seems to be a common misconception, and adds a little caveat to make it clear that it excludes the chasing ghost event.

As others have said - there is a hidden criteria for "Escape the Ghost during a hunt", in which the ghost must, at some point, have line of sight and begin actually chasing someone.

In most cases this is done by "playing chicken" with the ghost - letting it approach you blatantly and then... before it can kill you... using incense to escape to a hiding spot. It's not required for Deogen however... instead kiting them around a piece of furniture or circling a large empty room is often enough due to how their hunts work. This also will get the "escape the ghost using incense" objective done if you have it, so it's good practice in the off chance you can get two birds with one stone (three even if you happen to also have "cleanse the room with incense").

It should also be noted that this objective will NOT clear if someone dies during the hunt. It doesn't matter if it's the person trying to get and then break the line of sight or not - EVERYONE currently alive in the house during the hunt must stay alive until the hunt is over.
