I'd rather characters not look like a dork while using the computer in the truck. Nose an inch above the keyboard just to click on night vision mode. It looks ridiculous. Three years on and they give us this? Will final release at least fix the speech recognition that this update broke?
It stopped being fun. Maple lodge campsite with 3 noobs with that useless equipment? We end up not finding the lights, the flashlight or any other equipment now its next to useless. After 10 minutes of trying to find a light switch or the ghost... we just gave up. It was soooooooo boring. Not scary, not fun, BORING!
Almost 375 hours in the game (most of it solo) and i'm not a fan of the update. I was excited for new equipment but now after using it I don't know how I feel. I don't know how much of it is me or mechanics but I was hoping this update was going to bring more fear to the game and make it enjoyable again as I play solo but I really don't enjoy this update. Maybe if I had friends I'd enjoy it more but as it stands this update kinda not fun
Sounds like a break is in order for you till horror 2.0 at the very least. Or maybe you've just had as much fun as you'll have from the game.
I personally have been having a blast with this update; I've had almost no issue with any of the evidence aside from a bit of learning curve on like, the T1 EMF meter and figuring out what actually is an EMF 5; Dots was easy to figure out since the update made it so it's the actual ghost you shine it on now instead of being an interaction; Hiding in a corner and pointing the lights out was an intuitively obvious thing to do to me to get dots and havent had any trouble with it except one time we had a Goryo in the attic.
whats the best way to level up as i have still struggling with the basic equipment and struggling to get by
The fact that the XP gets up to almost 3 thousand XP needed by level 39 is absolutely atrocious.
Better way of putting it, the level requirements in order to level up are incredibly unfriendly to the casual player, while it benefits those who live and breathe this game and can tell what the ghost is just by a single tiny detail.
If you want to level up efficiently and play with the new shiny tier 3 gear, you are required to at least have some decent knowledge in the game or a cheat sheet in order to figure out what the ghost is and make stupid amounts of money stupid fast.
No new player would want to do that and no new player would want to use the tier 1 gear that actively handicaps them and requiring and obscene amount of commitment or play time just to reach the newer better gear, The game desperately needs an in game patch notes system to show patch notes, so players who feel less inclined to read through the incredibly lengthy stuff know exactly whats changed in short and sweet terms.
TL;DR: This Progression Update only benefits players who know the games ins and outs, while newer players are actively punished with slower progression and slower, uninteresting gameplay due to how terrible the tier 1 gear 'excluding the T1 thermometer' + XP requirements are, along side the devs relying on players to actually read incredibly lengthy teaser or patch notes, when a simple patch note system shortening whats changed and all that would be a healthier addition.
But this is merely my perspective and things might change later down the line
The level 1 items works fine for most of them, only one that I find unusable is the D.O.T.S Projector.
The rest is good enough, and for some (like Thermometer) better than the other 2 tiers.
Yeah i love the t1 thermometer and the t1 glowstick. I wish i could mix my equipment with t1 and t3 items. An extremely bad tool is the T1 EMF. It gives false positives.
The equipment shop really needs an update. It's very clunky to use and unintuitive, even the old shop did a better job.
Yeah equipment shop has been a HUGE letdown since it changed.
Which evidences are you having the most trouble with? Freezing and DOTS seem to be the most difficult post-update for many people.
