Snowy weather will start you off with that everywhere. Sunset will be warmer I believe.
Turning the breaker on will warm up everywhere inside, but the ghost will counter that and lower the temperature.
There's a trade off and strategy here:
Breaker on = easier to find where the ghost is, because the rest of the house will be warm (depending on weather), while the ghost's position will lower the temps and likely bring it lower than 5C.
Breaker off = easier to get freezing temps, because the ghost won't be fighting the warming of the house. It can lower to below 0C (32F) easier with the house being colder.
A potential strategy would be to turn the breaker on, find the ghost's location, get set up with the lights on, then turn the breaker off to make it colder faster to test for freezing temps.
Something that may be making things harder for finding freezing evidence: the GHOST lowers the temperature of the room ITS IN. This means if it's ghost room is a small walk-in closet or bathroom, it could wander in and out of that room so frequently that it's never quite lowering the temperature enough to go below freezing.
Turning the breaker OFF can make it easier for that roaming ghost to lower below zero, possibly even in both rooms if it's moving back an forth fast enough.
I honestly need to do that more, especially with the tier 1 thermo. It's sooo slow sometimes. I'll forget about the trick until the ghost turns off the breaker and THEN we see the temperature go below zero.. *smacks forehead*
am still not completely used to it and catch myself thinking "wait, why is it cold in the van?"
since snowy weather does this now too. aka me thinking wtf does the ghost in the van x3 but then remembering that the freezing stuff got changed xD.
I dont know why my group had troubles with EMF since it is obvious when it hits 5. But still sometimes someone would make a false EMF report during events or hunt.
Also. My group had a player who constantly reported false DOTS evidence. It turned out he shined DOTS at their own or other players cold breath and took that as an evidence.
Seeing all these threads about false evidence makes me think that maybe they are doing something similiar.
