If you mean seeing your breath then that is no longer evidence. That just shows you when it's cold but not necessary freezing. Has to be under zero now on the thermometer.

The way i found it to be now - Cold is now 5- -0.5 then anything below that is now freezing. Most ghosts that cause freezing tend to make it way down ive had -3/4 before.

Read the patchnotes or play the training mode. Cold breath now occurs at 5C or less regardless of ghost type. You must actually use the thermometer to confirm freezing temps.

Cold breath now just shows that it's cold in the room, great for helping find the ghost room after the map warms up, but is no longer proof of Freezing Temps.

And how did you confirm freezing temperatures, exactly?
Be honest... it's okay... many of us fell for it initially after the update...

Ive been getting freezing breath on every map in every game. Is it something that will be fixed? Not upset or anything. Just throwing me off. haha

Yuuuuuup, I would've been one of them had I not seen someone mention it. Real glad I did.

I've had 0 trouble identifying ghosts that were forthcoming with giving up evidences.

how does that work? I failed a few ghosts due to the thermometer saying the temp was at about 3 degrees, never at or below zero. i know i was using the Tier 1 thermometer but still, it should go under zero i imagine. :eagleangry:

Freezing breath irl is actually a phenomenon that results from you breathing out hot moist air and it instantly condenses in the frigid air- It actually doesn't need to be below freezing for this to occur, however. Under the right conditions you can begin seeing your breath at as high as 45~f/7.2~c.

And yes, the T1 termo does go below 0- All the way down to -10 and a little lower I think. Make sure you've got it in the right room; While the breaker is on temps in the location are gradually going up, and temps only go down in the room the invisible entity currently is- Which means if it roams room to room it may take a long time or even never happen if the breaker is on. So if you suspect freezing but aren't getting it, turn the breaker off for a few minutes to let the temps fall without being raised back up- Especially if your ghost is roaming a lot.

a roaming ghost dropping the temp means its nigh impossible to get a good reading with the starter equipment then, at least on harder difficulties. I think i only once saw a ghost stay in a room for longer than 20 seconds and its because it got stuck in a corner. :eagletear:

Indeed. If you have a ghost that is roaming a LOT, like never staying in a single room for very long, it can be downright impossible to get freezing while the breaker is on. Depends how many rooms it's roaming between though; If it's roaming between 2-3 you'll get freezing eventually- just very very slowly. 4-5+ though and the rate at which it lowers in the room its in gets overshadowed by the fact that that every one of those rooms is warming up gradually too. If the ghost lowers the temps by, for exmaple, 0.29c/min, and the rooms warm at 0.1c/min, then at 3 rooms, you'll get there eventually..slowly, but eventually. At 4+ rooms, you'd literally never see freezing.

So, If you're experiencing that, Turn off the breaker- With the breaker off, temps gradually lower on their own in addition to the reduction from the ghost, so it makes getting freezing much faster, and possible at all for ghosts that roam heavily.

We're having the opposite issue, Freezing temp ghosts aren't showing freezing temps.

Even with T2, and T1 gear, can't get freezing temps even after 20 minutes.

What I've noticed is that if you have a room that the ghost can roam out of easily in (Tanglewood, Kitchen/dining room, bathroom/hallway, laundry room/garage/living room.) The temp gets distributed between both of these rooms due to the ghost traveling in and out constantly, making it never actually hit freezing. Instead you just get 2 rooms that are Cold.

Turn the breaker off. While the breaker is on, temps gradually rise house wide; Meanwhile, temps only go down in the room the invisible entity is in. So with the breaker on and a ghjost that roams a lot, you get exactly what you're describing- Several cold rooms, no freezing rooms. With the breaker off you remove that gradual rise in temps from the heating system and it will eventually get all rooms it's wandering in down to freezing.
