Lighting a summoning circle?

I don't usually ask for help on any forum so I'm a bit embarrassed doing this but, I just can't figure this out.

I've found the summoning circle three times on three separate maps. I have matches but can't for the life of me get the candles to light. I've tried having them in my inventory, having them in my hand, having a match lit in my hand, mashing left click, right click and F (default interaction buttons), using my own lit candle to light the others.

But nothing seems to work! My sanity has been anywhere between 80% and maxed.

Do matches just not work? Do I need a lighter or better? Has anyone else had this problem? Is this a potential bug or am I just missing something?

Normally you just right click then hit F with a match, no clue. Possibly just a bug

I loaded a quick custom game to try this and it worked... Now I just feel stupid, but thank you!

We ran into a problem lighting them today. The first candle lit fine, but the rest kept blowing out as soon as they were lit.

I think I heard a while back that there was an update where the circle wouldn't let you light candles if your sanity got too low. I recently had a case where I lit two candles and it wouldn't let me light the third.

I know this has been a sore point with Insym because he doesn't understand why the devs think the Summoning Circle keeps needing to be nerfed.

You have not enough sanity. Each candle costs 16% sanity.
