Instant ghost hunt

We loaded into the game, and the ghost started hunting within 30 seconds and instantly killed 2 people, and it started hunting again 10 seconds after the previous hunt.

Either a Demon or someone found and used a cursed object, which triggered a cursed hunt, which then meant all hunts after it would also be cursed.

Anyone know if the banshee is still capable of doing any% hunts or is it just demon now?

Only the Demon can hunt at any sanity now. The banshee may only hunt if the target's sanity is at 50% or lower, or if the target's not in the house, the average sanity of those inside the house.

it was demon, but we had the starting hunt grace period timer set, so it should not have been able to hunt, there was a 2 minute timer, it hunted 30 seconds after walking in

Somebody used a cursed item. It resets the timer.

Nobody used anything, we were together the whole time, cursed object wasn't even in any of the rooms we were looking in at the time

Considering all the facts - someone was likely hacking then...

The only way you could get something like that legitimately is using the Tarot Cards - and even then it would have to be two deaths stealth drawn before and after the first hunt (which is pretty unlikely given the random nature of the decks contents, and the fact you said you were all together).

Additionally, the minimum between hunt cooldown is 25 seconds, and even a demon using its instant hunt ability can't hunt through the setup phase timer... which further points to a Cursed Possession being used... but if your claim is correct, then the Tarot Cards are ruled out and thus... there's no legitimate way for your scenario to happen in game.
