Mic not working

I use a Steel Series Arctis 7 Headset with Sonar all turned on, and my mic isn't working either.

I haven't played Phasmo since I got the headset, and now NONE of my mics work. Beforehand it used my DS5 controller, which worked just fine.

I got this headset as a hand me down from a friend, and HE had issues with it as well with Phasmo, so a different PC but same headset same problem.

Both the normal mic and Sonar mic work fine in discord, and Windows is saying it's picking all of the mics up. However when I pick them in Phasmo, nadda. At times, I can get it to work. I'm not sure how at all, but that usually then fails instantly.

The problem is spirit box. My friends and I use discord so that's not an issue, but I can't use Spirit box. And trying to use the Text version is just, no.
Firstly, I've written off spirit box after spamming it with no reply, and it's been a spirit box ghost.
Secondly, it traps you in spot and that makes you a sitting duck, or if it has to be ON the ghost well, I can't move around to try to find the ghost with it.

I'm fine using my controller mic. Ghost don't need me to sound good. But it's the fact that Phasmo is somehow killing ALL of the mics that's causing the big issue.

And I have tested other mics in game, switched things over and around, unplugged the dongle for the headset, all kinds of things.

How old is the headset, I tried the new update by pulling my Corsair headset I leave hanging on my shelf for a long time, and the mic is dead, like the older headset from Razer.

I looked it up, it looks like the microphone module wears out naturally over time, they don't last 1 year unless it's a very expensive headset. Gravity affects it, humidity affects it, temperature affects it.

So recently I just got a HyperX SoloCast standalone microphone, at the very least it's a decent build and won't break down after not being used for 1-2 years.

A few years old, but as I said, it works in Discord, and I can record it. ONLY Phasmo doesn't read it.
