Immersion breaking spirit box

I would pay money to have the option to use the old sounds on the spirit box. The creepy voices on the old box added to the atmosphere. Hearing a streamers voice come out of that box is like being slapped in the face with a cold wet towel. For people who tend to idolize others it might be nice, but as someone who watches streamers for the entertainment I find the new sounds incredibly immersion breaking.

I understand the wish to reward the people who made your game popular, but why ruin the immersion in a horror game for it?

It’s actually a bit more realistic on how it would actually work. Your scanning radio stations where the ghost will answer based off words playing on the radio. Creepy voices were moved to the paramic

Yeah I hate it too; totally breaks the immersion, not sure how hearing Insym through the spirit box makes the game more realistic? This should be optional.

I dont like them either and i dont think i ever will, however, the spirit box now does what its supposed to, scan frequencies and the ghost just "Manipulates" what you hear, i guess they tried to go for a more "Realistic" (If you can call it that) view on it. I do think it should be a toggle, since i rather ♥♥♥♥ myself than giggle at the random voices.

I personally got terrified the first time and I've not once recognized a single voice, since they did acting and didn't just record funny lines. I'm not sitting there waiting to here for a voice I recognize, and as someone else already said, it's how 'proper' ghost hunting equipment works.

If you want to get technical, people missed the OLD old spirit box the last time it was updated... And those ones WERE Silly. Just text to speech robot "ADULT!" and let's not forget the "E" (leave) meme. People will always hate change.

i hate it to, goes to show they love the streamers way to much imo. I would rather have the VERY first box then streamer mode. Honestly.

This is because he makes the game for youtubers and streamers. Regular players do not matter to them.

Coding the spirit box to match the model or the name/age to match the model is HARD guys :(

The voice snippets, if you pay attention, sound like random news or interview segments because you start out using a cheap AM/FM radio to communicate with the ghost. If it's a spirit box ghost, it basically talks to you by using whatever sounds close to the response it wants.

That's why if you ask something like "Where are you", it might respond with a woman saying "...the FAR east...". And also why it doesn't match gender, because the ghost is literally communicating through the broadcasted radio waves.

While idk if picking streamer voices was a good call or not, the Spirit Box behaves closer to what it does in real life. You are listening to them hijacking radio frequencies in order to speak to us.

It's fair to be skeptical there, but the streamers were given a script and acted accurately (As far as I'm concerned) So I think of it as just a nice bonus to make streamers and their fans get a little smirk.

People forget that there were already Easter eggs for some of their game's more well known streamers in the game for a long time.

Some people feel unconformable with it for some reason, but I'm not here to judge them for it. I'm personally indifferent to CCs getting some recognition in-game.

I didn't even know that the spirit box radio voices are streamers. To my ears not in the know, I just hear ghost communicating through radio broadcasts.
