Goto options and find the voice recognition part and switch it to text to speech and try again.
I got into the options, then in the Audio tab, I set the microphone to the one which matches in my Windows settings and chose "Toggle" for Voice Input Mode.
You can change back everything as it was before after you manage to get through. I have no other ideas in case this method doesn't work for you.
- Spirit Box Ghost
- Room Lights Off
- Within Range of the Spirit Box
In larger rooms it can be pretty difficult to get a response with the Tier 1 spirit box, due to it's low range. A trick I use is placing a motion sensor (or salt) and then stand close to it. When the sensor triggers (or it steps in the salt) quickly ask the question. Salt is only a 1-shot attempt which is why I prefer the motion sensor. That said, if you drop a UV beside the salt you can get a 2-for-1 as a UV ghost will leave a UV footprint in salt... At any rate, you're almost guaranteed to be within spirit box range if you do this.
