what you are saying is not correct
you don't have to have had level 100+ everyone who played before the update is in prestige because they don't have to earn all the cards and difficulty again.
and by the level you have you have different components for your prestige badge.
see Progression 2.0 Development Preview #8 | 25/04/23
Actually, it shouldn't do anything or hinder your gaming experience,
the only thing it changes for you is you have more options where to go and you can get better rewards
As for your experience, if you feel overwhelmed with the choices, i would recommend to learn the maps in the following order:
- Tanglewood/Edgefield/Willow
- Grafton/Ridgeview
- Bleasdale/Camp Woodwind
- Maple Lodge
- Sunny Meadows
School and Prison might be easier than Sunny Meadows to beginners in terms of their layout, however due to not being updated for the current gameplay it's hard to tell when to start playing them, as you should understand the concept of line of sight breaks work (not to mention that it's probably easier to get some parabolic or EMF upgrades first)
Somewhere amongst all that it has been fixed. All but a few of the maps are locked again.
Though thanks all for the helpful comments here, I'll also edit the op with this.
