progression update in 2035?
What is taking so long? I haven't played since they announced the overhaul as it would be pointless progression wise so is there a set date now?

Quit asking...

July or end of July.

Admittedly I didn't know the answer either dude and was going to ask also as pretty much the same have rarely played since the announcement of the wipe Frankly think of all the damage they did to a lot of the player base as people would have gone why should I grind out for things when it's gonna be wiped would have been better to have done the wipe early, and let people work towards tool upgrades dependant on their level before the new system comes in as then it maintains the incentive to play or some in game speciality item like a coat or jacket maybe that lets you carry an additional item just for a possible example. Where as getting a trophy/prestige that doesn't impact game play is sort of a meh incentive to play. Also hurts the overall sales during the period as even I've kept on saying to people hold off until the game wipe, unless they see it for a good price as unless they were willing to grind for it unlikely that they'd even get the trophy or prestige.

So you haven't played since December 2021 when it was put on their first roadmap iteration? This isn't even hard to check mind - their Trello has a backlog card with literally EVERY roadmap they've put out on it

But yeah it's presumably sometime this month, probably near the end. This is of course pending no unforeseen delays that were realistically out of the devs control to begin with.

I can't really make heads or tails out of this wordy response. Like there's apparently a single sentence that just goes on for like seven lines? Kind of got lost while reading and just gave up honestly

Make a backup of your save, and go play. Just remember to restore it when the patch hits before launching up.

Same to anyone else who's holding off playing- You're not 'Losing' anything with the wipe except a number that doesn't even really matter. If you're at a level you want to have immortalized, make a backup copy and get to playing.

Otherwise, Whether you do or don't play isn't going to change the effect of the wipe, you're literally just depriving yourself from doing something for no particularly good reason. After level 50~, all levels are pointless. It's just a number. You've already unlocked everything that can be unlocked by level 50, after that it's entirely pointless. Being level 50,000 doesn't give you anything special, it doesn't unlock any magic cheat codes, It's literally worthless.

Not playing at all between whenever you stopped playing and the update isn't saving you from anything. Just play and have fun. It's a game.

If you stopped playing means you don't even care about the game, what are u doing here ? respectfully

Why "long"? As of now there's nothing that leads us to the assumption that they're late on that update
GuineaPrince Jul 8, 2023 @ 12:34pm
The roadmap estimated a July release.

We are exactly 1 week and 1 day into July.

Temper patience with fortitude.

I'm tired of people having the time to open a new thread instead of checking the latest road map, seriously.

For some people, if there isn't an impactful game changing patch every other week, it's 'taking too long'. They also like to dramatically overstate how long it'll be before the patch hits when complaining (in this case, 2035)... And they don't really read the road map, or news, or look up any news about the situation that might have, yknow, told them that the patch is due probably in a week or two. No. They just come complain.

What a stupid assumption. If i didn't care about the game i wouldn't be asking when the next update is launching. Respectfully

Strange are you unable to grasp the answer to the question you asked? Literally right up there in what he/she said.. ' stopped when they said overhaul , reason pointless progression (as it will be wiped) '.. kinda simple math of 1 + 1.. equals the answer /shrugs

edit: Nevermind.. I can see from the other posts you are just trolling.. an not good at it.. oh well..

I can imagine it's easy to quit taking the roadmaps to heart since they're both vague and not entirely always true. Back in 2022, the roadmap said we'd have the upgradeable equipment update going on two years ago. You had things in the roadmaps back then that have now been pushed into 2024. Can't blame anyone really for feeling burned on the roadmap.

I mean the roadmaps are kind of vague on purpose first off - I certainly can appreciate that they want to keep some things a surprise for us to discover on our own. There's also the fact that, as far as I'm aware, the first one was NEVER given a dedicated update thread.

As for the upgrades, there seems to be only one major delay, sometime between 0.7 (Custom Difficulty) and 0.8 (Tempest/URP engine upgrage) - it was roughly six month gap each... which if you are attempting to re-code a game to use a better engine/system, that much time spent seems about right.

Despite all that, they were at least aware enough to make revised roadmaps which more accurately portray their initial plans. Putting their plans out so far in advance does come with a caveat that most people take for granted: that something unexpected might happen to push things back.

In short - just because they don't fulfill their plans on time doesn't mean they were necessarily lying to us about it... they just couldn't manage it within their own predictions/expectations. For now, it is a fairly safe bet that the first part of the overhaul will be hitting as planned... sometime late this month.
