uhh maybe watch some stream footage, there's usually always someone streaming it.

soemtimes the randoms joining a game can be pretty wacky or deranged so, fair warning there.

I would watch a few videos first to get a better idea. However, generally speaking, not really, Phasmophobia is a ghost investigation game and the ghost can kill the player. While more tame than most of the other ghost hunting games, there's a map called Sunny Meadows that features gore and blood with mild ambient screaming.

the game can be scary but the public lobbies are the main thing that is dangerous because it is unfiltered

I may be late but also the ghost models themselves can look kinda spooky for a younger child. Even if you don't see them too often.

I play this with my 6 yr old daughter. She gets scared but she does enjoy it. There's times where she will even solo play by herself.
Horror is completely subjective though. I don't know how your kid is when it comes to horror. My daughter loves anything horror, so it's not a big deal to her to play this game.
