I'm tired of unreasonable crashing
 This game is lying about a minimum system requirements

It saying 8GB of RAM is required and I check system monitor it using 16GB of RAM instead, period.

Which it means, every time I tried to start the game, my computer gets slower and slower, and then crashes the game, steam, and discord.

I not going to play this anymore until it fixed

Yeah 8 is the MINIMUM, if you have more available it will happily use more just like any other game out there.

The reason why the game is using 16GB of RAM is because of Texture Resolution is set to max, so I have to lower it to fix that problem

That would mean you are setting your graphics settings higher than what your GPU can handle alone so it uses your system memory to cover the excess. That doesn't change the fact that 8 GB is the minimum. Set every thing in game to the lowest settings and see how much RAM it uses at that point. That's what it means for the minimum requirements. It really sounds like your entire setup is at the minimum so you might want to start lowering some settings.

Ever since the update this month, texture resolution isn't the only reason anymore.

So I need some help.

I'm using linux on my iMac (which is 2017 version and sizes 21.5 inch), and I'm not sure how to do that. Besides, I need to know how to upgrade my iMac's RAM from 8GB to 16GB

If this is your system

That is WAY BELOW the minimum for this game. GPU and CPU are nowhere NEAR the minimum. You're going to run into issue after issue and upgrading your RAM probably won't help any. You're best bet is to set everything to the minimum possible in game and hope for the best.

Now I'm confused, because in your first post you stated that the game is already using 16gb of RAM.

Regardless, Phasmophobia does not have Mac support, so you'll need to emulate Windows OS with a thrid-party program, which can place additional strain on older machines.

Did you know that ubuntu 23.04 runs on my iMac just fine and it only has 8GB of RAM. (Replaced MacOS to ubuntu)

I'm sorry that is a confusion, it confused me too, besides I am no longer trusting Windows anymore.

Beware, if Windows 10 or later (that are included or installed primary) are ended of support, I will remove it off from all of my computers.

Their system is massively below the min specs for this game so there isn't much they can really do except pray or get a better everything.

He says the game is lying about the minimum system requirements and has unreasonable crashes, while trying to brute force running it on Ubuntu using a Mac?

It doesn't matter how much you hate Windows, the devs have list it as minimum requirement, so if you're using any other OS, then the problems occuring through that are your problems, not the devs.

then the game was not using 16GB of RAM if you only have 8. So the game was not lying if it works for you at all. That makes no sense how you think that is possible. Of course you are a apple person, so I suppose you are not very good with computers which is why you bought MAC.
windows would run it better. and you don't need to activate it or pay for it either. And if you only use Windows for gaming, then you really are not dealing with any other windows issues.
I understand why you don't like windows since it is probably too techy for you to understand how it works, but if your just using it for games...
