Edit: Or should I say, current gen.
I think they just want to save extra work by simply focusing on the current gen consoles, which in the long run, is a smart idea; they don't want to repeat the same mistakes CDPR did with Cyberpunk 2077.
The PS4 could easily run a non spaghetti coded version of this game. Right now the game isn't in its final stages and is by far not optimized, the game struggling isn't because of hardware. Cyberpunk 2077 isn't anything remotely close to this graphically, and was also spaghetti coded, and RDR2 runs perfectly fine on the PS4.
I have a feeling in order for devs to get onto console platforms at all they more than likely have to sign some agreement and are told which consoles they are allowed to have the game on and which ones they can not.
The average gaming PC runs this quite fine, in fact better than my PC. So if your having issues, it's something you setup wrong, or you don't have a average PC, you have a toaster..lol
I honestly cannot see this game running on a PS4/Xbone well, at least not now.
Some people were expecting a Switch port, they don't consider how weak the hardware is and must be a mess trying to implement crossplay and other online functionalities that the devs obviously expect them to work like voice chat.
Then all the people complaining about the game's performance must be using said toasters.
Not sure why you would assume everyone with issues uses a toaster.
99% of people here have no clue how their PC works. It's really obvious when they start pointing fingers at what they think causes their issues.
Non tech people make the weirdest assumptions
And I obviously used your toaster bit as a joke.
I don't care that much but your i5 and 1050 Ti are actually faster than the last gen consoles.
Last generation consoles are completely garbage with the CPUs and you can't effectively leverage the horsepower out of them like AAA releases can unless you do a boatload of optimizations for the unique architecture.
The reason it can come to the current generation consoles is because they have no glaring hardware weaknesses, for all intents and purposes they act just like PCs do now and don't require as much tuning to leverage that hardware. Trying to support previous gen would not only take up more dev time but would likely just end up being a poor experience anyway.
Some are using toasters, But most cases can easily be fixed on the users end, with some kind of settings tweak.
every situation is different, But people have no clue how to tweak settings, performance mode issues, no dedicated GPU, countless issues that are user end issues because of
mis-configurations. People are not really tech literate in general in these forums which is ok, it just resorts to people pointing fingers.
Like having someone with no mechanical knowledge trying to tell you what they think is wrong with their car. They don't have the knowledge to make a logical conclusion for the issue in most cases. Some car issues are simply user errors, or lack of maintenance on the owners side.
Simply the same for computers. Most CPU's newer than mine, should run the game as well as mine if not better. And any newer dedicated GPU than a GTX 1050ti can run it better than my PC.
Unless you can cite a specific case, I can't give a specific answer to the issue. But as long as they have a newer system with a dedicated GPU, The game can and will run fine if they tweak the settings correctly.
Lot of time it's a settings issues in game or on their PC in some way. Some cards you cannot max out settings like mine, otherwise you will get poor performance. There for applying the correct settings will fix performance.
People with nvidia cards, can and should optimize settings with geforce experience as it is easy for the end user to get a good base settings.
A majority of issues are user related issues, not hardware.
Processor wise, it is 100% on par with my processor more comparable to a i5 4670. So technically a little faster.
GPU wise, it is on par with a gtx 1060.
So I disagree hardware wise, a PS4 can 100% run this game no issues if they took the time to do so. But that would be a waste of time really and not a good idea with PS6 around the corner.. And as you mentioned a lot more time to make this work on the PS4 architecture.
So a PS4 can 100% run the game hardware wise. Just not sure it would be a smart play.
I'm quoting what CPU and GPU they compare to based on benchmark tests. Not really something up for debate as it is the fact.
