Just because they're in the truck does not mean they're not doing a needed job.
Plus, jumpscares are lazy; They work off surprise. Loud noises, sudden movements, and the like.
They are less 'jumpscare' and more 'jumpsurprise' and stop being effective after the first few times.
Their Trello strongly suggests they plan to go with the psychological horror route, with things like hallucinations already planned to come with the horror 2.0 rework that is on deck after the progression overhaul. Jump scares do not fit that sort of theme like at all.
And there isn't even a jump scare in like that in this game anyway...
"Oh but what about when you die... that's a -"
...Let me cut off any retort there in advance by saying that what you experience when you die is straight up a death animation... it's too slow for a *jump* scare. Trello once again backs this fact up with the acknowledgement that specifically "new death animations" are also planned with the horror rework.
And those, who're already too scared to go into the house will most likely not be motivated to do so by also getting scared within the Van
Por otro lado me gustaria que haya una opcion o dificultad que el fantasma te ataque afuera de la casa
Sitting in the truck staring at the camera at the moment honestly feels useless unless you're looking for orbs (but you have the hand held cameras for that)
Besides, people who suggest that ghosts should be able to attack or jumpscare people in the van always seem to do it out of spite for people who stay in the van out of fear. Like... so what? It's a horror game, let people be scared. Being scared is the fun of it. If you're playing public lobbies and getting upset because people are playing inefficiently and think the developers should sacrifice the horror aspect of the game just to 'nerf' a strategy you don't like randoms doing, I don't know what to tell ya.
I think we should go the other way and make it more viable to have someone watching cameras. Scary things can happen, but they should be passively observed from the van and not happening to the monitoring player.
Also to test DOTS with that one ghost (forgot what it's called) that only appears on camera, and not in person.
I like this idea. Maybe it could be a Djinn (or one of the other electricity-adjacent ghosts) ability to sometimes appear on the truck screen, but nowhere else. Sorta like the banshee scream on the Paramic, but visual.
Goryo, though even in that case you can just sit outside the room and hold a video camera, which is the only way to confirm without a shadow of a doubt that it ONLY appears on the camera.
