That's Intrusive As Heck & You Have Overstepped Your Bounds, Developers

I went to launch Phasmo to check out any changes since I last played it, and I had WeMod running in the background. I had finished nattering about in Bloodstained: Ritual Of The Night yesterday, minmized WeMod, and went to bed.
Note: Running in the background.

I had not launched Phasmo through WeMod, nor had I tried to hook WeMod into Phasmo.
Because I only use it in singleplayer games, like giving myself infinite summoning in FF15 or the FF7 remake.
Or giving myself infinite HP in God of War since I beat it long ago.
Again: I was not even actively using WeMod. Hell, I forgot it was minimized into my taskbar.

But the game detected that WeMod was running (but again; not influencing Phasmophobia in any way, shape or form ), told me to turn it off, and crashed itself.

I did not agree, nor give you the right, to detect what programs are running IN THE BACKGROUND. Nor is it your job or RIGHT to scan my computer that way.
You have overstepped your bounds as game developers. NOTHING gives you the right to look at what programs are running on my PC when they are not directly & currently being called by, or calling, your game.

Once you agree to their EULA/ToS, they can do whatever they want if it's in their ToS, and since you don't actually own the game, you own a license, you can't really do much in terms of "privacy" You want to talk about intrusive? Ok. Go read what Microsoft collects, and its more than just what you type or copy to your system. Your phone collects 2x as much about you than your PC does,

I never said I was trying to hack in this game, only that the program was idle in the background because I had used it for a different game.

Do you 3 understand now? Or are you going to keep trying to have a 'Holier Than Thou' attitude without going through the grueling task of actually reading first?

Look, at the end of the day... you're not banned for what it detected.

In fact - I'd go so far as to say it protected you from an accidental one. I certainly would have hated it if it did not tell you, but it just silently banned because one forgot that it was still running.

Whether it is intrusive or not is debatable, but the devs are allowed to protect their product from hackers/cheaters. If nothing else - you can take solace in that it is only looking in the game folder, and for any of those specific processes - your other files are safe.

It's OP's responsibility to turn them off when they play a game that can detect them, not the game to not detect them.

I totally understand. If one wants to use cheats on another game, or SP game, they should be able to without worrying about other games the cheats are not being used in.

And yes I would have freaked out with that warning a little too.
But Atleast it made you aware of it. Like mentioned in my edit above, VAC bans are not disputable. If this was caught by VAC in a VAC game, that could have been crappy.
Unfortunately with detection measures for anti cheats, which already can't catch everything, I'd say Phasmo handled it generously giving a warning.

It's a good idea to get in the habit of exiting programs like that when you're done using them for singleplayer shenanigans. It only takes one moment of forgetfulness to end up banned from your favorite game, or even worse, from multiple games and/or future games.

If you use a program to hack, regardless if it is for single or Multiplayer (Which we have no way of knowing if OP uses it for either or not) then be prepared to work harder to prevent being banned or for consequences.

I have never seen a more entitled bunch then those that believe that they should be able to do whatever they want on online games.

If they didn't want to be punished (albeit they are whining, not punished in this case) Then they should focus on closing any trainers or similar programs before opening any online games.

Don't want to get your wrist slapped? Don't use the program.

mate dont be like this if you cant shutdown your mod stuff to play a game stop crying. this is to keep players from using cheats etc and yes wemod is not cheats but the app gives signals to the anticheat

Well, Wemod clearly states on theyr website that its a cheat and it has trainer style cheats in it. Its not a mod despite the name ' wemod' .

However, if you use it in singleplayer it wont affect me, so I dont care.

And Warframe will ban you directly without warning if you have CheatEngine "just running in the background", your point?
Scanning the running processes is basic anti-cheat, almost every game that cares about cheating does this, stop whining.

Actually am hating this since i didnt even have WEmod running at all and its crashing it saying it is (yes i checked task manager) since i tend to only use wemod for games from company's who tend to release broken games...Looking at you Bethesda,ea and ubisoft
