We are for sure getting more money coming in for objectives, and they have also stated that item prices will be adjusted... HOWEVER, it does not specify one way or the other if they will all be cheaper than we have now or more expensive - I would personally suggest setting your expectations low and presume that it will be a mix of both price reductions and increases.
Thanks for that. Sounds interesting. Hopefully it'll be a decent update.
Also keep in mind, that you don't need everything. Especially as a solo player you can easily go with some budget setups costing like less than 500 $. And as others said, you can also grind money easily.
Though there will also be an update in the near future, which rebalances the progression. That might already fix some problem for both, beginners and experienced players.
1 lighter = $10
1 Candle = $15 (some maps already have candles too, making this map dependent)
1 Crucifix = $30
1 Salt = $15 (for Wraith tests and/or additional photo money)
1 Smudge Stick = $15 (Also capable of clearing multiple objectives with one smudge, making it very resourceful)
1 Motion Sensor = $100
1 Parabolic Microphone = $50
That's only $320-335, which can very easily be earned by playing on Nightmare or Custom difficulty as long as you aren't dying very often.

Despite the multiplier, it's super easy to win this setting and farm about $500 per hunt if you get a perfect hunt. Since the breaker starts on, you lose no sanity while finding the ghost room (and locating the breaker in case it gets tripped). You're slow, but just keeping smudge sticks inside the house at strategic spots will keep you safe. If you maintain the breaker, the ghost will usually never even hunt unless you specifically try to make it hunt. Even at 50% fingerprint chance with an Obake, the ghosts stay pretty easy to identify, just stage all your items at the front door before going in.
I only use this to farm cash since it's a bit TOO easy, but if you're short, it should help.
Edit: I should note that I run this solo all the time with no problems, since you can turn on lights the second you enter, it's easymode unless your ghost does a lot of events that eat your sanity...but even then, since you can find the room quickly thanks to temps being normalized on entry, you can get crucifixes up in their room long before they can hunt. Just plan ahead to look for orbs and spirit box at the same time to keep sanity up, and you should be just fine. I just start out by figuring out what hiding spots are open as I find the bone and cursed object as well.
You can change a couple settings too without making it harder. For instance, turning off the monitors gets you to 7.3x without really making it harder on a solo run, but even at 7.1, if you get a perfect hunt with a ghost photo, you should be right around $550-575 each run without daily/weekly quests boosting the amount.
Edit again: Figure I can give you a bare minimum loadout too:
1 of each evidence item (video camera, UV light, spirit box, book, DOTs, thermometer, EMF reader).
1 extra photo camera (for 2 total, all you need for 10 pics)
1 Motion sensor
1 parabolic mic
1 lighter
1 smudge stick
1 candle
2 crucifixes
1 salt
1 sanity pill
(Optional) Tripod
If you can put more in, try to get 4 smudge sticks, 3 salts, 4 pills, 3 photo cameras (in case you miss a photo and want a backup to get a ghost pic for an objective, even if it doesn't count in the journal). I also like to have an extra lighter, extra candles, a 2nd motion sensor, and 2 glowsticks (1 for marking a smudge drop location in case I need it mid-hunt, and one just to leave in the ghost room to spot fingers easily).
I also will take in a 2nd DOTS and book, just for more coverage of the ghost room (and easy interaction if it does both books).
Ignore head camera, and sound sensor, you won't need them with this setup. Ever.
If you are new i suggest you let other people buy stuff, and if you want to help, put one of each and tell them to help if they want cause you can't provide all items, except for flashlights if your teammates are poor, put 3 small flashlights, the silver ones, so everyone will have one and you are pretty much set, unless you are doing Sunny Meadows, Prison, School, those are the only big enough maps that you need full items.
BUT beware there will always be a bunch of brainless mf's who want full items in F'n Tanglewood lol, if that's the case let them put the items themselves or just leave, not worth playing with these kind of people, like me, go do Tanglewood solo and avoid the stress. Yes i am salty!
What do you need full items for? 4 Smudge sticks are definitely recommendable and candles for everyone help as well, if you don't want to loose too much sanity too early, but once you've found the ghost room, it pretty much is still the same gameplay loop as with any of the small houses.
Why should it be stressfull to have a full truck? If anything it is more chill, because you don't run the risk of accidentally forgetting something or switching back to your full preset for other maps. Even when i see others putting stuff in, i will always also just push my add button as well, just to make sure, that we actually have everything we need.
