A DLL was added that can be removed or patched, it supposedly is an anticheat and scans your system for anything that is related to mods and cheats, a modder already unpatched it as this is a privacy violation to scan processes and systems like that.
yeah but if im playing singleplayer why does it matter if i mod the game? i bought the game i should have liberty to do with it what i please. and also to then not outright let people know about this feature when you made this a "rule" is completely wrong.
how i can found the unpatch?
It has two functions - scanning *specifically* the game folder for code injectors and other file modifications, and preventing the game from booting up if one is detected. This first action is not only operating in a legal capacity, but it is safe to leave running as there is no data collection happening.
This second action is to ensure one does not unknowingly violate their End User License Agreement by leaving something like wemod active, even if you were never planning on using it for Phasmophobia. You will NOT be banned at this time... this is to protect you from being banned accidentally
