-80% penalty for playing custom difficulty?
I thought the point of the custom difficulty was to be able to increase the difficulty further and ofcourse reward the player for playing such difficult settings.... now they kinda killed that idea, there is no point in using it as us players get punished for dabbling into the custom settings. Whats the point of the 10x multiplier if it gets reduced to 2x cause im playing custom mode?

More or less for fun but 80% is not just a huge penalty, it’s MASSIVE.

CJ said he’s all ears for anyone who has ideas on how to fix this.

they destroyed custom, excellent

Yeah, this is absurd. 80% completely wrecks this.

So whats the harm in not having the 80%. Leveling doesnt do anything, we all got so much money that reward doesnt matter. Honestly it doesnt effect me all that much causing progressions is pointless in this game, i just play cause its fun, im just more confused than anything. They give us custom mode with multipleiers but then nerf that multipliers.... got that phas TAX xD They should have just nerfed the multipliers in custom mode tbf.

They ruined customs. Now there is no point in doing them unless you find someone who doesnt care about leveling or getting money...

Which was exactly the point of the change, making progression tied to the regular modes and making custom a place where you can easily set up no electronics/no evidence/etc presets for fun. The devs have plans for the game and everyone being level 8000 and having max money means they'd have to institute some sort of hard progression wipe when they do release their reworked system if they just left customs as is.

this reward change is one of the biggest slap in the face to the players you can have. Sure, anything over 10x is too much, but serious,y My friends and I had removed grace period, made ourselves slower, done tinkering and made a custom 7.35x nightmare (slightler harder than normal) that is now invalidated due to the 80% reduction. Gives less than normal nightmare). For what reason? Too much money and exp. I guess 460 is "too much", 7 levels is "too much" (for a perfrect)... then lower shop prices for items, or go back on your >poorly thought out< sweeping reductions

The should've just made custom not give any money and XP from the start.
This would've made it clear to everyone that custom was just a fun / challenging game mode, not a way to level up and earn money.
ChewyMushroom Dec 14, 2022 @ 7:51pm
The devs don't like people having fun apparently.

This might be the first level-headed take on the update I've seen.

They already said money/xp wipe is coming soon, so you have no point.

Ah yes, there's no reason they'd want to fix progression order before they redo the money and xp system. How silly.

That's not what they said though, re-read it. They said custom couldn't be left how it is because everyone has xp and money, without the dev also doing a wipe.

Well the dev is doing a wipe soon it was announced months ago, so they didn't actually have to change customs at all (yet).
