Unity Error fix and Banned from Phas multiplayer

I was having trouble with a unity error while launching phasmophobia. Specifically "Unity 2021.3.16f1_4016570cf34f. The fix for that: Go to Phasmophobia on steam, right click, manage, browse local files. On this tab, delete everything except for "Phasmophobia_Data" "Gameassembly.dll" "Phasmophobia" "UnityCrashHandler64" and "UnityPlayer.dll." Next go back to steam and right click on Phasmophobia and open properties, local files, and verify the integrity. then it should work. (I deleted a bunch of screenshots and some type of config file)

Also, how can I appeal a ban from phas when I can’t get into the discord?

I don't know what happened, but I joined my friends lobby, and he started a match. The game started loading and them I get this unity crash. i tried opening up the game and I was getting the unity 2021 crash. The thing is when Dknighter replied to the one guy, he said make sure you are not running and mod menus such as wemod and you will be able to load into the game. I have wemod, but I never ran it on phas. The only thing I had running was phas and voicemod. whats going on.

Are you sure it wasn't running? In any case, wemod seeks out connections as I understand it, so if you don't have it reigned in properly it's gonna cause problems.

Best way to avoid it is just not use such a problematic program to begin with, but if you do, understand how to wield it so you do not get caught as you did.

uh, turn off your wemod in task manager then try again.

Hey, make sure wemod or cheat engine isn't running in the background. Check your processes tab in task manager for this.

I read somewhere that jus t have WeMod on your laptop/pc causes this error and won’t let you play but I’ve never used it on Phas. Why is this bannable if I’ve never used it??? This is ridiculous. I can’t even play now and I did nothing wrong.

Wemod and/or other cheat engines can still be potentially running in the background, and it will still detect it even if you have zero intent on using it for Phasmophobia.

The only way to know for sure and stop it in that scenario is to open your task manager; if wemod (or similar program) is on the list of processes, right click and hit "end task" on it.

If you're not running any of the aforementioned things that can be running in the background, then try hopping on the discord and contacting them via modmail, it could be another issue. Verify the integrity of your files through Steam first though, that will be the first step they have you take anyway, so might as well get it done beforehand and see if that fixes things.
