Which shadow settings are the better onese? Soft or Hard?

I chose and use the hard shadows usually but I would assume soft being more realistic but I honestly can't see much of a difference when I change between the two at least in the truck when comparing shadows being cast.

Soft usually looks better, since that's more realistic, but if your hardware has problems with it, then harder settings are better to keep the fps stable (especially since light-based stuff can get very ressource hungry quite fast).
