Unable to crossplay between VR and PC
Cheers ghosthunters!

Yesterday me and my friends wanted to play Phasmophobia for the first time. Three of us were playing regular PC version, while one person was playing it on VR.

As it turned out, the VR guy couldn't connect to us despite everyone playing on EU.
I did not found any guides/issues about setting that kind of crossplay, everyone seemed to have it working without problems.
Anyone knows any fix or can help?

Info:
3x regular PC version from Steam
1x VR (HTC Vive) from the Viveport (couldn't connect)
Problem: "Game does not exist" after typing in the session code, either VR had issue when PC created lobby or PC had problems when VR created lobby.

Thanks! May the Crucifix protect you.

Usually it works quite well. There is no need to set up anything special. The game supports mixing PC and VR players by default.

Does your friend uses the very exact game version (check number in menu)?
"Game does not exist" usually happens if you entered a wrong code or the host does have another version than the person trying to connect. Happens if there is a small hotfix patch which not everyone got already.

Else...

Does your friend uses OpenXR mode?
Does anything change if he is the host rather being the non-host?
Is he able to play multiplayer lobbies at all or just singleplayer?
Does he verified the game file integrity via Steam options of the game already?

Forwarded this message to them :)

When he (Vieport) was the host, we (3 PC Steam users) were not able to join him. He can't verify files on steam since he is using Viveport (Something like Steam for vive i guess) as his launcher.

I've send him your message, will try these options and come back ^^

This could be the issue.

Usually crossplay between Viveport and Steam is possible for most games. But it could be that the Viveport Phasmo version is outdated. It is not unusual that other platforms receive the updates "delayed" (like for GoG). Here on Steam, hotfix distribution works on the fly, and due to early access state, there are a lot of them (and even the slightes hotfix will count for the issue). So my biggest guess is that your and his game version number in the main menu is differently, which will definitely lead the the "game not exist" message even if you are on the same server region.
