How to wear Badges?

I just unlocked my first badge after getting a full set of Phasmo trading cards! However I was curious how do you get these to show up in game?

Like isn't there a way to put them on your ID card?

Those badges are mainly to get experience in your steam account or to display them on your profile. They have no use elsewhere.

That's what the new about it say:

"Earn or buy all 10 trading cards to unlock the exclusive badge, and then level it up to an exclusive foil badge! The badges are a great sneak peek into the icons we'll be using for our new Prestige system, coming at some point next year."

So as of now they don't have any purpose outside the Steam leveling system.

The text doesn't really specify how these batches in particular might be usable in game.

All we know is just that the Prestige system somewhere next year will include some different batches and a new progression system to allow us to unlock these.

Badges found in game will be unlockable by playing the game, not by buying trading cards on Steam side.

I rather wait for the devs to anounce all of this instead of just some random person in the discussions guessing of how it works.

Other games also include ingame rewards for reaching specific levels on the steam badges, so it is definitely possible to see something like that in Phasmo as well, especially since they're not relevant to the gameplay in the end.

You said it yourself, the Steam badges are a sneak peek to the prestige badges, and the Steam badges don't go up to 10+ like prestiges will.

The game already features badges like the dev badge and the content creator badge, which isn't bound to any kind of level, but stands for itself. So why do you think, that the Steam badges might not be added as additional badges on top of the prestige badges?

Ultimately the devs doesn't have said anything about it except for that its comming and that some badges are bound to the prestige system. They didn't said, that it's only about levels or what they might add on top of it (like achievements would be the most obvious addition on top of the prestige badges and adding the Steam badges in individually isn't as impossible as you think it is)

Well the Steam badges are the badges for the first five prestige ranks, and each of the badges represents the number of the rank.

I never said that other special badges cannot be awarded by some means, just that it wouldn't make sense to change the Steam badge system to something unnecessary. I'm not even sure if it's possible, never seen that in any other game. I don't think I've ever heard of any game change their existing badges either, it's probably not impossible, but I don't see any reason doing that at this point lol.

The currently planned or available badges are:

Director: Yellow badge only available to Kinetic Games
Officer: Blue badge available to Discord staff members
Reporter: Red badge available to official content creators
Medium: Red badge available to translators
VIP: Yellow badge available to contest winners

Prestige badges with unique title for ranks 1-10, of which the first five can be had as Steam badges
Further ranks beyond prestige 10 may or may not have their own badges
