Should I be picking up mirrors?...

After grabbing a mirror off the wall it started to glow and couldn't let it go. Then of course the ghost killed me. Should I avoid picking them up or was there something I should else I should've done?

That's a cursed object. The mirror allows to see where the ghost is at. If you use it to long- it will crack and trigger a hunt.

I think you lose 10% Sanity per second using the mirror (numbers may be not exactly correct) so its good to look like 2-3 seconds and trying to find which romm the ghost is in if you wanna use it. But its ot necessary because you can go to the breaker turn it on and see where the temperature is low and then find the ghost room :D

The mirror is one of the more useful objects but you gotta just manage your sanity with it, definitely take advantage of it if you find it early or if you think the ghost might've changed rooms.

Either activate the mirror again or drop it on the floor. Both will deactivate the mirror. Just keep in mind, that the activation and deactivation animation will still drain sanity, which should be payed attention to, when you're using it to loose sanity on purpose.

It doesn't show the ghosts position, but actually the ghost room itself. So the ghost might still be somewhere else at that time.

It is right click to look at it, then right click to stop looking at it. It doesn't drain sanity, when you are holding it, just when looking into it to see the room.
