Unable to load il2cpp
Does anyone know how I can easily rectify the above issue? I played Phasmo last night without any issue and went to load up this morning but have been unable to load it up at all...

All of my other currently installed games are loading without issue so honestly not sure what's causing this issue with the one game.

The one potential fix I've found relating to this error is deleting resources.assets in: Steam/steamapps/common/Phasmophobia/Phasmophobia_Data/ then make Steam verify the files so it'll redownload it. If this does not work, then I'm not sure other than contacting the devs on their discord.

I'll give this a go when I get a free moment :steamhappy:

After doing a quick Steam verify of the local files followed by a restart, the PC it seems to have sorted itself out...

Looking at Discord, there was someone else having the same issue and it appeared that McAfee was the issue with it. Makes sense from my side as I'm still using them until the end of the month at which point I'll swap to someone else.

McAfee/Norton are awful. If you *need* an anti-virus, look into ESET, or Malwarebytes. Defender by itself is ok, as long as you don't click on every shiny "download" button lul.

Only went with McAfee as it was a free 12 month subscription. I've been looking at Bitdefender and ESET recently to see which one I may look at.

i found a fix to this issue its got something to do with the way the devs group the game code in gameassembly.dll if you go to mcaffee and put that file on your excluded list (also make sure the file has been restored to the game because it will remove it into quarantine). you dont have to add the whole game to the excluded list just that file hopefully its temporary and mcaffee get an update and realise its an issue.

i deleted mcaffee bcz i dont need it and i reseted my pc(remove all the files) and after it finished i deleted mcaffee(bcz the pc downloaded it auto) and the problem fixed
