Discord server question
I got banned from the server 2 years ago for doing something really stupid and I was wondering if it was possible to apply for a ban appeal or something like that?

There are only two things I've seen for any kind of available appeal:
First isn't exactly geared towards appeal but it's possible you could attempt contact via this method.. But it's likely not going to be possible since you don't share a server:

If you are having issues with a user on the server, please send a DM to @ModMail to reach Staff quickly and efficiently.

You can also contact @ModMail to report cheaters/hackers, if they are from this Discord Server, with evidence.

If you encountered a cheater in the public lobbies, we cannot take action. Please report them directly to Steam.
Modmail's discord ID is ModMail#4553; It is a bot. So you may or may not be able to message it despite not sharing the server.

Second, a post by a moderator named Ashley who may or may not want a bunch of appeals dumped on her head- So be polite if you follow this avenue.

Hey there, I don't really feel like this is a good place to discuss discord bans. While it's done by another team I trust their judgement on banning. If you do wish to appeal you can contact me directly and I can find out what happened. I just don't feel this is the correct place for such a talk.
https://steamcommunity.com/id/toquina She has a standing request on the profile page to leave a message explaining why you added her on her profile before adding- So do that before adding or she'll just ignore/block the add request.

You could also perhaps try adding one of the official discord moderators as a friend in hopes they'll hear you out, but as I can't find any message from them in which they say they're available to review an appeal, I don't personally feel comfortable calling out their username/discord tag number combos.

Give #1 a go- In theory it SHOULD let you create a ticket for the moderators to review, so be sure to provide any/all relevant info.

Wouldn't that be uh... ban evasion?

? No...? How did you even infer that from anything I said?

You were banned from a specific Discord server; Not from Discord as a whole, yeah? So in order to potentially get unbanned from that specific Discord server, you need to contact someone From that Discord server.

Nothing in what I said constitutes ban evasion- Ban evasion is where you create a new account and then re-join a server/game as if you weren't banned from it previously, or some variation there-of.

What I spelled out was two possible ways for you to attempt to contact someone from the Official Phasmophobia server in order to potentially get unbanned- At no point did I recommend making a new account, nor to ban evade in any way shape or form.

No I mean to contact Modmail.

Again, no?

Modmail is a method of contacting the server's moderators- That's it. Contacting mod mail doesn't magically unban you, nor does contacting mod mail automatically join you to the server, or anything of the sort. It's no different than DMing any other user. It's not as if you're making a second account to contact mod mail- You're still on your banned discord account.

I provided two options explicitly because Option 1 may not be available to you- You aren't actually in the Phasmophobia Discord, since you're banned, you may be unable to DM mod mail due to how discord functions.

But at no point is contacting mod mail ban evasion..? You're contacting the people who banned you for an appeal. :winter2019neutralyul:

Which is literally why I provided TWO options; Bots work differently than users on discord, so I surmised it MIGHT be possible to DM modmail anyway.

But in the absence of that, There was still Option 2. Which I've explained thrice now.

I know. I read that. I was just asking a question.
