Why would you play this if you no longer get scared?
The whole part of the game is that it's genuinely scary, the mechanics aren't that advanced at all and basically all you're doing putting things in a room and writing off a checklist.

So for those who are in the lvl 100s, why do you keep playing? It seems really pointless if you dont actually get scared, and not fun at all

It's more like I love to hear people being scared, sometimes I feel being social, I like helping beginners, but yeah the game is boring and not scary at all. I find it more fun when I play with friends. I haven't touched the game for awhile now...

It is pretty fun and chill. And there's nothing to prevent, block or disincentivize playing together with friends, unlike many games where you need or want to do the thing x but your buddy is looking forward to y which you already did and the third person is already gunning for the feature z neither of you have unlocked yet.

The game isn't just build around scaryness, but arout replayability first and foremost. Even when you don't get scared anymore, you can still learn tons of stuff over dozens, if not hundreds of hours and get better at it. And given how RNG-driven the game is, its also not really as predictable as other horror games, since sometimes you're already done within 5 minutes and then there are the investigations, where your skills and patience get really tested.

And the next update will make the game even more replayable.

But overall: Play the games you want. There's nothing wrong with only playing this game 10 hours and then never coming back again. But at the same time it's obviously not wrong to play it for well over 100 hours.

Insym plays it, because he has fun doing so. Sometimes the most basic explanation is actually the right one.

Because we play this for fun and chill.
You're acting like YOU not finding it scary means NO ONE should keep playing it.

The gameplay loop is addicting and we do get scared from time to time. Thank god the cheap jumpscares aren't around or people would get sick of this game crazy fast.

I stopped getting scared of this game fairly quick once i figured out the basics, but i kept playing it. Simply because investigating was fun with the crazy ghosts in my early hours. Also learning how the ghosts worked in the meantime.

It sure is a great experience to chill with randoms/friends while trying to solve a puzzle together. Shame i get called a cheater in a few lobbies due to my level, while we have people like Shuee and Insym around. Sigh.

it was only scary for me for the first 10-ish hours. after that, the fear went away. rarely do I ever genuinely jump from anything in this game. not because I'm a tough horror fanatic (in fact I'm the exact opposite: a major pus-), but because this game doesn't really offer anything that stays consistently scary enough to make someone scream every time something scary happens.

still, I play this because it's a fun game with friends. we goof around, they stream it, we make memories.

you don't always have to play a game for the sake of its core. as long as it means something to you, play whatever the ♥♥♥♥ you want.

because I love ghosts :)

Figuring out the ghosts is a fun puzzle. Especially if I refrain from using certain tools and try to ID the ghost through alternate means. I like to do a quick run now and then for kicks.

With all the different ways you can figure out ghosts beyond just dunking evidence in a room and waiting the game has a lot of replay value and things to learn, and the random locations in a variety of maps adds a lot to it. Its fun to play with friends, especially in VR, and even when you do know the game inside and out you will still sometimes be caught off guard for a good scare.
