Mic not working in lobby

Hi my mic never works in the lobby I don't know if its my mic but I bought a new one and it still doesn't work

Check your Microphone settings in the System Sound Settings, make sure it's set to the correct one.
If so, Check the Steam Microphone settings, make sure it's set to the right one.
If so, make sure it's set to the right microphone in game.
I have to change each and everyone, when i'm swapping from VR

I literally have to go into my settings every time we go from a load screen to change mic audio inputs even though it is on the correct source or else nobody can hear me. I swear it is the most annoying bug I have ever encountered
