Cheating on phasmophobia...
Hello ! I'm opening this discussion since it's more than unbearable to have to put up with cheaters!

I'm fed up with having to go and find profiles, report them to Steam and surely have no sanction following our report...

The worst is that today, two cheaters came, speedhacked, and we had to search for them, but the WORST! It is that they put forward their community of cheaters and their software.
It would be better to put the VAC and to be able to choose if the session is protected by VAC or not!

And add BattlEye or EasyAntiCheat or whatever anti-cheat solution...

What do you think? I can't take it anymore, fortunately it's not every day, but it's at least 4-5 times a month... And NEVER the same ones, or new accounts! (Because yes, cheap accounts are easy to find!)

Sorry, but when you see guys crossing the maps, spawn cursed objects, kill you when they want, give themselves level several millions, it's SERIOUS!

Especially since Steam's VAC solution would be good enough.

But if the developers don't want to do anything, that's their problem, they'll lose the community after a while.

At least do the minimum to block, or limit this style of cheat because it is abused.

Too bad for a game I recommend.

i only use my cheats mainly on singleplayer, and barely leveled myself up. i did this to unlock maps and get good equipment, just to try some stuff out. i dont mess up multiplayer servers at all, and only use them for myself.

Yeah, since this game has literally no kinda, ranked system or anything along those lines...there's not going to be an anti cheat system.

People like that are just ruining the game for themselves like morons anyways.

WHAT we do need, is a VOTE TO KICK feature.

I've seen a couple but not in an actual match, the ones that i saw were just staying in their own lobby with level 100,000 something. A bit confused why they do that (not that I would play with them anyway)

I find it so pathetic to use cheats on Phasmophobia.
The game is not hard, and the whole fun of the game is not even about beating other players. Money isn't important after a while either, having tons of items doesn't even do anything, and high level means nothing.

Feel sorry for them, they probably have such a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ little life that they need to leverage their lack of skill on such a easy game. Look for friends to play with or play solo like me - problem fixed.

I do not play phasmo on public lobby's. So that really does not effect me

Yes, this feature would be really useful.

So you cheated your way up while at level 15 you already have unlocked all of it? serious?

Hard to believe tbh, i'll bet you cheat in MP games as well because why should you level up your way to above 15 while level 15 is done within a day.

You know what they say: Once a cheater, always a cheater.

I was wondering that too

Public lobbies are fun, you go out to ghost-party with random other ghost-partiers. Sometimes you want to ghost party and your friends aren't available. And there's a lot of low-level people who are just learning the game - it's like a civic responsibility to be awesome to them.

Only problem is that there's so many cheaters, especially at low levels (suspect they reset their levels regularly to look new), that anyone under level 10 is automatically suspicious. I still join them, but they're kinda under unspoken probation, you know?

Best thing I've found is just to host your own game. That way you can at least kick people between rounds. If you end up in a public game with some other cool friendly people, but the host is cheating, you're kinda screwed because it'll be a hassle to make a new game with the same peeps.

That's why a kick vote would be very practical. Even against the host. And that when we kick, we can enter a reason (troll, CHEATING, vocal abuse (soundboard), etc...), and if a person is too many times vote kick he is temporarily banned or has some kind of penalty (earns less xp or money, his nickname has a specific color or has a specific symbol to know that he is suspicious.)

And I agree, playing with random people is a good idea, and when you are rather extroverted it is good.
But cheating is becoming abusive, like soundboarding, even today I still get people who soundboard like mental patients, it's impossible to be zen on the game.

We really need to do something to at least block this or make it easy to know.

I think the simple blanket change that needs to happen is this: Phasmo detects any mods or non native software in its folder or whatever (i dont know the exact terms), the game auto bans you from playing multiplayer or something.

Albeit im not sure how feasible it is to develop this.
